PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Brilliant from Pep, what a man. Gave me so much confidence.

Just a quick one about Levy though, I think he just grabbed that name when he was referring to the other CEO’s, possibly the first name that came to mind and not really a reference to him being in the firing line. Just an opinion.
That was my reading too, especially as Levy is very much a 'hands on' CEO and the face of Spurs.
I know who the owners are at Liverpool, United and Chelsea but I can't name their CEOs, especially now Woodward has, sadly, gone.

In your expert opinion do you think this will be resolved or go all the way? I feel that it has to be resolved once and for all to restore our credibility
I think it depends on how much Discovery is provided with our responses to the allegations. If all of it, then it may stop there. If limited, then I suspect it will continue until full Discovery is provided which could last over 6 months to complete. If our papers are truly irrefutable then all good lawyers will bring things to an end.
If this was a public hearing like Uefa then I could see it going all the way. As it is private then the value of it going ahead is severely limited. I cannot state what other agendas are at play here, but my gut tells me that things will get resolved following Discovery unless the PL provide evidence that was not available to UEFA that is capable of defeating our Defenses. That still seems unlikely.

Disabled team, youth academy, movement between CITC, links with live events other than football, corporate hire for 5a side etc. All blurry if they want it to be. That money from the vegan sponsors who have a hut that is seldom open. All contributions towards Mancini's sons who were paid and went. The more they scour, the more desperate they are. The public who don't support City have already chosen their sides. Few will change opinion.

Damage of reputation has been intended to be initially at a maximum as many fans were plugged to the news to see about that alleged white paper. The blue and white news hit hard. Right on Munich memorial day. Every fan of our rival was watching the news. Liverpool fans love twitching their curtains and they have been dancing on tins of polish since.
What we need is a slogan on the side of a redundant red bus, with words like, "City are innocent", or "Premier League mafia", or something similar....

I would be amazed if City's legal team don't use this to discredit the PL. That's really all they need to do, discredit them. If we have enough evidence to back up our innocence that would be the back stop.
He would be our first witness to call about the premier league

Thank you

Funny. I am A lawyer and I can’t see anything useful there. Forget the Appeal, it’s a massive red herring. If this ever sees the inside of a private and confidential arbitration then that is where it will end. Win or bust. This always has and always will be a nuclear event for the loser.
The weight of the charges makes this nigh on impossible for the PL to win without some new piece of evidence that irrefutably proves that we have done what has been alleged.
CAS showed that evidence does not exist or was not presented for at least some of the period covered in this case. The PL lawyers will be paid as much as we will be paying Pannick (funny how there is no mention of those costs). They all get paid irrespective of the result. Bird & Bird have logged 4 years of fees, they are not worried about their reputation. They will simply talk about the risks of litigation when they lose.
If there really was a smoking gun this whole episode would feel remarkably different. In fact the charges and the deal reached by City and the PL would have been announced almost simultaneously as those conversations would have been covered and dealt with behind the scenes. I remain utterly convinced that City will defeat these charges. Could I be Wrong… of course I could. However, I rarely get things wrong (arrogant but true).
Good post. Optimism is in abundance today.
