It would involve a deception on a par with Bernie Madoff, but to involve a much greater conspiracy, in terms of numbers involved. Conspiracies are notoriously hard to keep going over a sustained period. The bigger, the harder. People fall out, or become aggrieved, or something unforeseeable occurs to move the pieces on the board. Something always happens eventually. The notion this size of conspiracy went on for the period alleged simply doesn’t hold any water.

Something evidential would have come out by now.

It's not even going to be heard, this is PL regulating itself death. Government is taking over the governance of English football, the fans finally saw the mask slip with the European super league and revolted enough for government to listen.

The charges and sanctions being attempted to dish out have been pushed by other clubs wanting this to happen. The Premier league would probably prefer to just close the case and forget about it. They are stuck between a rock and a hard place, they have to be seen as doing something as 5 of those clubs have been plotting to set up a Super League.

Good post, also those 5 clubs are not in favour of an independent regulator.
