PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Interesting quote at the end who said that
It was said by Ian Cheesman on one of his podcasts. There was a finance guy identified I hadn't heard of who was named a couple of times, I can't remember his name, but it doesn't really matter. City provided all the documented evidence to the EUFA inspectors and the CAS judges, and CAS found in our favour.

If CAS could see the error, why was it so elusive to the EUFA inspectors? Hence the comment, I suppose.
So they knew about these payments and perhaps did not try and get them reduced in value or argue they where related part and are now saying some 4 years after it has finished and some 14 years after it started
No, there was nothing other than the contractually agreed payments between the club and the players taking place.

For whatever reason, the EUFA inspectors couldn't reconcile an accounting function that took place between 2009 and 2018 when the payment of image rights was handed over to an outside company.

City were obliged to pay the players the agreed amount stated in their contracts, and they honoured their commitments.

Image rights payments are an accepted part of the game, and there is nothing dodgy about them. There is no need to try and hide them.

If allegations proved will we get a tax rebate P?
I fully agree. Didn't make me any less angry, though.

You'd think that the PL, after such a lengthy investigation, must have better evidence so as to constitute a sound basis for the allegations. And you'd hope they'd show the utmost professionalism throughout the issuing and prosecution of such serious charges against a member club.

However, they've been under constant pressure from member clubs, too, and then there's the political issue of the Government considering imposing a regulator on them. I suppose there must be a chance that the PL is doing something similar to UEFA.

It would be astonishing, really, if they've levelled these accusations without showing due regard not only to their obligations to other clubs, but also to MCFC. We're one of their members, too.

On the other hand, it's not unknown for organisations and individuals who should know far better to act in a crass, unprofessional and wholly ill-advised matter when driven by expediency. I've seen it on a number of occasions during my career.

Of course, our detractors would point out that I should note that, when insinuating that the PL may be acting in this way, I should also acknowledge that maybe MCFC is the party whose conduct is questionable. Point taken, Indeed so.

Let's wait and see, then. I do hope there won't be any cause for ire on this occasion.
Or as previously stated never confuse tactics and incompetence…

No, I compared the financial weight of the club with one branch of Tesco which is apples and apples.
It’s not though, is it? You’re comparing the entire “company” Manchester City Football Club limited, with one very small part of the company Tesco.

The Tesco's super store in Portwood, Stockport, will make a much larger profit that we do.
Based on our figures over the last five seasons I doubt that very much

Top flight football clubs are NOT big companies financially in world terms. This is false patting football on the back and is not necessary.
I guess that depends on your definition, but the top top teams are all multi-billion pound companies, and the competitors being in the hundred-of-millions.

So in pure cold numbers they are indeed quite “big” companies. And as I mentioned above across every department they have the staffing levels to align with those numbers.

Similar point came up on one of my WhatsApp chats recently. Murray Rosen is King's Council, so will be more concerned about his integrity than point scoring between City & Arsenal.
I take it you don’t know many KC’s. I do. They run the gamut same as everyone else. Some extremely honest and moral… others complete twats.
