PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

What’s the high court call out in reference to - must have missed that story

Harris positioned himself as a ‘Football Finance Expert’ when giving evidence in the Barry Bennell case - and the Judge specifically ruled that there was nothing in any of the evidence he provided that qualified as in any way expert.

The Judge’s guidance was that Harris’ evidence should not be considered to be that of an ‘expert witness’, as he had referred to himself, and therefore should not be considered as such in the final judgement.

He merely made a series of factually apparent statements with no expert insight applied or offered at any point.

The Judge essentially enforced a legally considered evaluation that Harris is a complete fantasist, who passes himself off as an expert - whereas in reality he’s merely an average dullard who took the stand and stated the blindingly obvious when called upon to apply his ‘expertise’ to the evidence presented.

A pretty humiliating evisceration of the mad bastard’s fantastically inflated view of the apparent ‘insight’ he holds in relation to his supposed specialist subject!

Also known as doing a Coleen...

I think last night could really be something bigger in the grand scheme of things..

You know how we feel the whole 115 charges are meant to deter players from signing for us the very summer we need a rebuild??

Last night might make a lot of the very players think.. you know what? fuck the charges! I want to be a part of that and that isn't happening with other teams.

It's happening at City under Guardiola and with Erling Braut Haaland.

Only Mbappe can be mentioned in the same sentence.
There's really nowhere else to be for these top moments!

Hell even EUFA and the PL might be keen to get in on our good side now..

Those magical moments with Haaland at Cityare forever and they will want them played again and again and again!

It's like Sean Connery with Rolex submariner.. 50 years later and still that is ICONIC!

Why was he used and why did they need anyone In relation to football finance in the bannell case ?

Apparently to quantify the loss of earnings by his victims but the claims against the club were dismissed anyway so it was irrelevant in the end.

He was called upon as an expert witness in football finance, to support the claimants’ position in a loss of earnings claim against City in the Bennell case.

How the claimants’ legal representatives reached the bottom of the particular barrel they found Harris in, I couldn’t tell you.

Now you could certainly question why someone with such a barely disguised agenda against City was admitted as an apparently impartial witness in a case against the Club - and if you did hold the perfectly reasonable belief that he’s being paid by someone somewhere to generate anti-City content, so prolific and utterly myopic is his output, then his apparent desire to support a damages claim against the Club could certainly be called into question. Whatever the clear and evident merits of the case.

Alternatively he’s simply someone who tried to make a few quid passing himself off as an ‘expert witness’. This can be quite a lucrative sideline if you are actually an expert in a specific subject, for example a specific area of medicine or Finance in this case, to help a non-expert jury understand complex specialist information.

Although given the Judge’s withering assessment, I’m not sure this side hustle has all that promising a future for him!

But whatever the truth of the matter - in this case Nick needed no assistance whatsoever in discrediting himself or his motives. It seems he offered so little insight of note in his representation that the judge made a point of noting his lack of expertise on the subject.

A crushing evisceration of someone who chose the name ‘Sporting Intelligence’ for their website.

The guys a fucking imbecile, with absolutely zero credibility. And that’s coming from a Senior Justice, not from me!

Seems like for Harris, the charges by the PL are all he really needs. He -- and enough of followers -- will always focus on the charges and the volume of the charges, claiming "where there's smoke, there's fire." They'll always be able to raise doubt as to City's legitimacy and our guilt.

The smear and reputational damage won't ever go away, and that's Harris's win.
I dont know.... It really crushes him when City do things like we did last night. He immediately went onto Twitter to be bitchy. I think our success really really hurts him. Like he thinks about us all the time.

Thank heaven Harris and his ilk are seen by the professionals - you know judges with qualifications or indeed anyone who cares to consider things objectively before pontificating - are evaluated objectively otherwise anyone or any organisation charged with anything at all is already guilty before any evidence is heard. It’s frightening
