clearly no coincidence, they are clearing the decks before the new regs come in, old accountancy practice, get all your bad debts / news out of the way in one reporting period, then you can march on and leave the mess behind / or for someone else to sort out , just like the 2 cheeks of the same red arse who 'hate' each other both declaring they are for sale almost together , but both really only want to rope more mugs in as minority shareholders so they can use the new boys money rather than their own

There suddenly seem to be a lot of ffp breaches and fines. Obviously we can discount the PL going about it's business in an honest way, so that leaves either ourselves drip feeding info/applying pressure, or the PL 'tidying up loose ends' before throwing the book at us.

Exactly this. They can now say that there is no witch-hunt against City. All clubs are investigated and punished accordingly. Here’s the proof. Then throw the kitchen sink including the taps at City. Smart move actually.
