Hard to reconcile FFP and charges against City when you see those figures.
Not only are City's gross and net transfer spends better than our competitors but we are the most successful football club in the period, now generating the highest revenues. Other clubs looking to emulate our success are trying to buy into our model both on and off the field.
The 115 charges against City took years to bring and not one has been proven so far after even more time. None of this reflects well on the PL as the undue influence of certain teams in red continues to emerge. Their hegemony is waning and they are finding themselves restricted by the same rules put in place to stop City.
Manchester City and CFG are exemplars for world football and business yet the PL still have 115 charges of breaches of FFP against City. Other clubs will be desperate to hear their details so they can copy.
Unless the PL can prove City have broken legal or accounting rules, their best outcome to avoid further embarrassment is for the independant regulator to be appointed, revise the governance and rules of the PL and instigate a review of FFP rules. This way the PL can walk away on some pretense be it no longer relevany, time lapsed or by making scapegoats.
