PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Maybe I’m missing something MB, but I saw it as Uk government talking to their own embassy.

I’m not saying there aren’t any other interested parties, but you can hardly just assume the missing details. That’s no better than the accusations against us already, that drive us mad with, well…. Missing details all being assumed.

Yeah I agree, that comment wasn’t talking about this directly as as you say we don’t know what was said, it was to Ric taking about the inevitability of it being discussed diplomatically at some point.

I keep reading that Uefa were aware of this and that and there were discussions that had taken place between us and Uefa, while this is all well and good I assume we also had the same conversations with the Premier League, if we didn't then we may have left ourselves exposed.
The PL do the actual licensing for FFP on behalf of Uefa, for English clubs I believe. If UEFA and the PL talk to each other, then the PL should have been aware of the Etisalat sponsorship and the image rights payments well before the Der Spiegel articles.

Which adds to the belief that this is a manufactured scenario.

And by the amount of overseas supporters that we are attracting to the club, it would appear that they too, don't give 2 shiny shirts about the the trumped up chargeses.
Onwards and upwards, "feck em all"
Feck 'em all
Feck 'em all
Feck 'em all
Feck the reds and the rags and arsenal
'Cos you'll see no team finer
just ask Carlton Palmer
so come on my lads
Feck 'em all.

Premier League will have been lobbied and harassed extensively by reps of Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham plus others. This is where the 115 panicky charges came from. The Premier League as a political organisation is not our friend and they have been bullied into this. Richard Masters is a stooge for the red cartel. Third or fourth choice by all accounts. City is a very well run club. Unless there is something we don't know about we will crush these charges. Come on City!

There is bound to have been idle uninformed conversation about the issue just as we've had on here

Imagine if the information they had that would "risk the UK’s relationship with the United Arab Emirates (UAE)" is a chat between agency staff who are dippers/rags hoping for us to be found guilty.

More than likely it will be reports and personal speculations on what the likely impact it will have on UAE's investment into the UK.

If we were going to use political pressure to escape punishment on these charges, why didnt we we use pressure 4 years ago to not get charged in the first place?
That’s what I’ve been saying. It wouldn’t make sense for it to get this far but then not much about this whole thing makes sense, unless you are a lawyer….then it makes perfect sense as you are making a lot of money.

I find the Mancini charges strange.
The reason I say strange is the fact that in a 4 year investigation nobody from the premier league has thought to question Mancini with regards being ‘paid off the books’
Surely with the seriousness of the charges and the ramifications that could come because of said charges someone would surely question him?
But he’s not even had a phone call.
(His words)
Like I said I find it strange.
It's not that strange if you take the point of view that they're not after the truth, they just want mud to sling. If they're afraid that questioning Mancini would lead to the truth that there was no wrongdoing, and hence remove this particular lump of mud from their sweaty hands, they're going to avoid doing it.

Appreciate this may well have been what you were implying.

Do you think there's a conspiracy theory against all things City?
When we get off the charges, will there be a conspiracy theory as to how we managed it, irrespective of the proof we supply and the defence we produce? (As we did previously.)
As the song goes, "Best defence in Europe, we're Manchester City...."
Don't "Pannick"; the defence is in good hands.
:-)

Maybe its just me, but the first thing I thought when reading these groundless rumours of Government involvement in that rag was... they've managed to get hold of information on how the panel matters are proceeding. They couldn't print it without getting themselves or someone else in trouble... and given the information they received they wouldn't want to anyway.

Basically, things aren't going well for the PL and their 115, so its time to start laying the groundwork for the 'they got away with it because of ...blah blah blah'. In short, when cleared, the governmental influence will be the PL's very own 'time barred charge get out'.
