Lovely story but the smoking gun really doesn’t exist.
in your opinion?
Lovely story but the smoking gun really doesn’t exist.
I never understood the fuss over this - and still don’t. My understanding was that Mancini under the terms of his severance deal with Inter couldn’t take a managers position for a specified timeframe. Mansour gave Mancini a consultancy gig which I assumed was similar to putting him on retainer, or an option on his services, as there were doubts over Hughes.
Hughes then got the bullet earlier than the owners ideally would have liked and Mancini was installed. The consultancy deal was common knowledge at the time and that the two jobs overlapped was more about timing than anything else.
Whether Mancini did any consultancy work or how long the jobs overlapped I don’t know, but why anyone cares a decade or so later is beyond me.
That's because much of our investigation is based around deceit and concealment to which the 6 year statute of limitation won't apply if this can be proved.
Spurs Defoe allegation and this Liverpool allegation (if true) going nowhere, well outside the SOL.
2029/30 probably!I hadn't really thought about this until I saw a brief reference to it in this thread a few days ago.
The timings of when the panel can sit and then subsequently deliver a verdict are crucial. They know that any potential punishment can include points deductions or relegation so they need to work out when they can actually do it even if everything is ready to do so. Here is just one scenario:
The hearing sits some time in February and delivers it's verdict late March. We are found guilty on whatever charges and the main punishment is a 15 point deduction. From a position of leading the table we drop to 5th and the four places above that change. There is then no time to hear our appeal before the end of the season so say Arsenal win the league. We then go in to win our appeal at some point over the summer then we would be champions. Equally the points deduction couldn't be held back to next season as Arsenal would rightly claim they'd been denied the title. This says to me that the hearing will be in the summer with a verdict delivered early into a new season. Which season that might be is anyone's guess!!
I think our gloves are finally off.
pep warned other clubs to be careful what they wished for in that explosive press conference last season, this may be the start of it
City trying to establish a precedent for Statute of Limitations?in your opinion?
Is this true? Nothing anywhere else about it
