PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

What am I missing? We took Ceferin and UEFA to CAS and we won. Why would the words of Ceferin represent anything more than the words of a sore loser? The highest court in Europe for sport has already ruled in our favor. His opinion is not only parochial but lacks any validity. But somehow him saying he thinks we were guilty is treated like some big revelation by the press and these mutts on social media. It's outright comical. There's not an ounce of common sense being applied and it's deliberate.

Last week the big headline was City to be relegated. Never mind the FACT that Stefan Borson's main point on his Talk Shit appearance was that he believed the Prem could not prove their case. Relegation was only mentioned as a possibility if were we to lose. How is that news?

This Terry Flewers on his The Football Terrace stream on YouTube took an email that Nick Harris posted on Twitter relative to our bringing Brahim Diaz to City and spun it into City "trafficking" underage players into our academy. The email says nothing except that we need to be careful to ensure we basically dot our I's and cross our T's in terms of his parents establishing themselves as living in Manchester. How the fuck does this guy have the balls to use a term like trafficking? He goes on to call that demented fuck Nick Harris a very credible journalist several times and he concludes with a statement that this invalidates our entire academy set up and all the benefits we've derived in terms of players and profits from sales.

You can't make this up in terms of the public gaslighting going on day in and day out both in the press and on social media. It does make me wonder if all these assholes were so sure City were guilty of all the things they're being accused of doing why do all this piling on of obvious misrepresentations, exaggerations, and slurs? The lack of objectivity speaks volumes to the fact that they HATE us, simple as. Truth and justice hold no place in any of this for them whether we are guilty or not. It's a disgusting public shaming that's unwarranted and unethical even if we were actually guilty of some misdeeds. But if we are eventually cleared there has to be a reckoning. What that is I don't know, buy I know it can't be forgive and forget, not for me...
100% agreed(great post btw), I thought there were at least some rules talkshows and even youtube content creators have to follow. In fact, I know there are and I'm fairly certain they are breaking them and although perhaps they're not seen as major breaches of the rules and regulations, they are doing it with such frequency that it's becoming routine/accepted.

talkSport are accountable to ofcom's rules and regulations, there are rules on impartiality standards, fact reporting/misinformation etc. Here's a quote from the CEO last year:
Ofcom’s crucial role in preserving the integrity of broadcast news and current affairs programming – by upholding standards of due impartiality and due accuracy – has remained steadfast,” she asserts.

“These two pillars of our Broadcasting Code – which reflect the duties set for Ofcom by Parliament – are designed to protect audiences from harm, and to secure a counterweight to other, more partial, sources of news. They give TV and radio news audiences confidence that they can rely on the facts while also ‘hearing the other side’ through a range of alternative views, so they can judge for themselves,”
I don't subscribe to the notion that talkSport are exempt from these rules because of what they class themselves as, they discuss news and current affairs in the sporting world, plain and simple. They shut down opposing views, cut them off(don't allow them to be heard properly) and misrepresent what they said.

As for youtube, click the report button on a video and you get list of all the things you can flag a video for, so you don't even need to read their rules and regulations, misinformation has it's own checkbox as does 'spam or misleading'. That's actually something we as City fans can do ourselves.

I don't normally like reporting or grassing people up(there was a code against that where I grew up lol) but enough is enough, it's the way these slimy arseholes operate anyway(such as Nick Harris and Rob coming on here fishing for victimhood ammunition). You know they would do it themselves, in the same position, so it's giving them some of their own medicine really. We should all start doing it, before sharing it or discussing it, if there's a strong case for misinformation or misleading clickbait, then report the fuckers.

Maybe we could petition to ofcom too, and give examples of organisational breaches but I have the feeling it would need the club to get onto ofcom directly, for them to take serious action, if they bother doing anything at all.

Albeit for reasons that aren’t clear at the moment, Ceferin has now come out and essentially said CAS got it wrong and City were bang to rights, so there is certainly a non-zero chance the PL tribunal finds differently to CAS.
He didn't say CAS got it wrong

Clearly mischief making and he never defined what he meant as "right" or "correct"

CAS never said UEFA were wrong to charge City but found no evidence to substantiate the charges

"We know we were right," Ceferin said, in his first public comments about the Premier League case. "We wouldn't decide if we didn't think we were right"

"As a trial lawyer for 25 years, I know that, sometimes, you win a case that you are sure you will lose. And, sometimes, you lose a case when you're sure. You just simply have to respect in a serious democracy the decision of the court.

"I don't want to speak about the case in England. But I trust that the decision of our independent body was correct. I didn't enter into this decision."

Post CAS UEFA disposed of the services of the Chief of the Investigative Chamber. You can decide if UEFA got that right and correct

You might want to ask why Zvonimir Boban has resigned from UEFA in protest about Ceferin's plans to carry on as UEFA president beyond the maximum term allowed, a maximum term that was introduced by non other than Ceferin

Lets assume that there is a Premier League club out there now who were banking on raising £30 - £30 million in transfer sales in January in order to keep on the right side of FSR. In my opinion it would be quite reasonable to have planned for this over the last few months and then. BANG.

Suddenly nobody can afford to spend and they are now in the shit. The very rules the PL are trying to introduce to protect clubs could well fuck them over and facing points deduction and relegation.

Its a fucking mess.
I'll take that and raise you.
There's a mid-table club in the PL who were thinking of buying said player - but they think they can do without until the summer. They suspect the selling club may be skirting with FSR issues so think "2 birds one stone", they won't buy to make sure the sellers get points deducted next season and go back in the summer. It's a FARCE
(It's not actually that far fetched - although I do wear a tinfoil hat!)

At this stage we just have to roll with the punches. Of course a lot of what is contained in coverage and comments is distorted and is not music to our blue ears. However, little of this negative stuff is realistically actionable. Some on here seem to think City should be taking journalists to the courts every other week. There are also constant calls to ban certain members of the press from the stadium. Neither approach is likely to gain anything in terms of tangible results and generate a more balanced coverage.

Let our lawyers do their talking in the tribunal rooms and our players do what's needed on the pitch. Develop a thick skin, keep a broad smile and fuck the begrudgers.
I agree with you in terms of both our lawyers and the club. They have to maintain their focus on the tasks at hand and the things that can actually cause us harm both on the pitch and off.
I'm more talking about the media as a whole refusing to show an ounce of balance and actually pushing one agenda, guilty, in large numbers. It's extremely unprofessional IMO...
Also, it's become so tiresome to go through this bombardment every time some other club gets done, there's a break in the schedule, or we announce some good news of our own.
I am sporting a broad smile. It will get even broader when this is over and we're cleared...

What makes me piss when all is said and done.
Nobody, and I mean nobody where I work says owt to me,because they all know I'v been a match going fan virtually all my life, none of them, and i mean none of them have been to support their club in years, but i know they will all spout the same vitriol and shite.
The internet is a million times worse than real life, everyone can chip in with their bias and bollocks and downright lies with numbers on their side to back them up,yet few knows what its like to actually support a club .

Anyway,I was on an early and up at 5am and in work at 6, fuck em.
Up the Blues,now and always.
Same at my work mate. I live and work in Leicester and I've got 5 x LCFC fans, a rag, a Spuds fan and strangely a Blackburn fan. Only two have season tickets, ones mine and the other belongs to one of the LCFC fans. The rest are armchair fan cunts. I get no shit because they know I'm a die-hard and I will eat the cunts alive if they dared. The LCFC fans find themselves watching 2nd tier football because their owners can't invest. There'll never be another Jack Walker for Blackburn, because he wouldn't be able to invest.

It's slowly dawning on them that the cartel cunts have had their pants down.

The rag is my nephew and a Manc, so I go easy on him, but he's still a ****.

The Spuds fan is just a no-nothing ****, who's been to their new stadium once...to watch American football. I kid you not. The ****.

There are Spurs fans outside of London in the UK then?
