PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Sorry guys bad news.
Football 365 have spoken.

We’re getting relegated and Peps going to Arsenal.
Sorry to break the news :(

Football365 is the biggest pile of utter shite I’ve ever witnessed.
Football365 have come up with ever possible punishment scenario over the past two years, some of them several times. They haven't got a bloody clue.

Relevant timeline: Pep said in a press conference on the 7th Feb that in one month the verdict would be in.

PL Shareholder meeting: 27/03/2025. May generate some press gossip about Masters' position as the PL governance of the rules appears to most observers as descending into farce.

Pep's pre-FA Cup press conference: 28 or 29/03/2025 may see press questions on the timeline.

Relevant PL rules: PL Handbook - w48, w49

w48. In the case of a determination at a hearing the Commission’s decision shall be announced as soon as practicable thereafter and if possible at the end of the hearing and shall be confirmed in writing by the chair of the Commission to the parties (and copied to the Chair of the Judicial Panel).

w.49. In either case, unless the parties otherwise agree, the Commission shall give its reasons for its decision (a copy of which shall be provided to the Chair of the Judicial Panel). In the event of a majority decision no minority or dissenting opinion shall be produced or published.

Insight from slbsn (Legal expert and City fan, Bluemoon and social media): It is the practise notwithstanding the rules quoted above for a commission to give the parties a period of time in which to check a draft article covering the announcement for typos / errors.

Insight from Billy Shears (Bluemoon and City fan, media opinion): As of a few days ago no verdict received by City (I can't remember if a timescale was mentioned)

Hostile establishment media (MI6ers): Throughout the UEFA and PL investigations, establishment journalists hostile to Manchester City's ownership have been relentless in their criticism of MCFC. In advance of a ruling, their output serves as a guide into the confidence of the PL side. See recent negative articles include Unherd, Manchester City could cripple football, Wilson, J.

City fan speculation: City fans knowing all of the above have speculated that a verdict might drop in the international window, and Blue Moon user 'Gone for a Burton' predicts it will be announced today (26th March).

My opinion: I think Pep's guidance on the timeline came from City's legal team but it was rough guidance. I think there is a very small probability (< 0.05) that we hear today. The international window is closing but I don't think the convenience for MCFC and the Premier League matters that much. The announcement will come when the commission are ready, and it will be made through the PL and Manchester City. I don't think there will be a long delay in the chain of communication. I think it's possible that the PL and City legal teams will have a corresponding member who can liaise with a member of the commission on the timeline and that some clarity might emerge from Pep's press conferences or press reporting on the PL shareholder meeting. If MCFC or the PL are on the ball, and such a line of communication exists into the PL commission then we might get some clarity on a timeline but that's more hope than expectation. Manchester City fans are being completely disregarded in this process which is typical of the Premier League.
