PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

K, are you really lumping 2 entire peoples into one pot while taking on some sort of moral stand? C'mon fella, I know you're better than that...

I don't believe it either but that kind of people only fuels the stereotype.

I know they probably the minority but these minority often speak the loudest and can make others looks bad because their behavior hence why the rest of the world thinks that people from these country being ignorant twats.

I get your point but I still believe everybody has their twats and that most people are decent...

I made a post about the poll but deleted it because I didn't want to keep the thread off topic. But since there's no hope for this thread...

There's actually a fair question or two to be asked about the validity of that data. How was the poll conducted? How many people voted?

Since the page tells you nothing and there's separate buttons on the graph with the 3 answers on. I'm going to guess, the poll was conducted on that very yougov webpage(log in and vote?), that the majority of the population doesn't know exists. The start date is August 2019.

It's a logical assumption to make, that the vast majority of people who care enough to search that subject up, log-in and vote are the ones who are strongly against it. Those who are happy with it or don't care, will be in the minority by default because they haven't been looking to voice their opinions on it as much(human nature). The point being, I strongly doubt 61% of the UK feel that strongly about it, especially where the UAE are concerned IMO(football fans maybe). Since that's the one country in the whole region westerners immigrate to the most(how can that not count for something?). Although, this was not a specific question about the UAE either.

With that said, even if they went out canvassing on the streets, asking the same multiple choice question, most people aren't going to want to give an answer that makes it look as though they care more about money than human rights.

I wonder what the response would be if you asked leading questions that get to point of: If it's ok to have economic ties with China(most people can make peace with that), then why not the UAE? We've all seen the BBC use the same tricks on their website, to be able to say 'most people want Liverpool to win the league afterall'. Which was probably to try and change peoples minds, so their HYS moderators weren't so busy deleting all the comments saying otherwise, on their Liverpool fanzine style articles.

As far as how many voted it's "1968 - 2022 GB Adults per wave" which isn't years as I initially thought but the actual number of people who bothered clicking on it bi-annually. I guess it's pretty much the same people voting each time on various topics unless you can choose categories? It's not something I've used myself but it's such a black or white question that it's of very limited use anyway.

Yeah, I don't think it has much use either. Plus CFG aren't owned by a state and the arena is only joint owned by them. I'd also wager, the people of Manchester would rather have the investment and redevelopment than not have it, even if he's a billionaire from the UAE. People still watched the Qatar world cup, people still watch the boxing events in Saudi.

It was an unnecessary question IMO because it was chance to spread some excitement and positivity and give the people of Manchester(and Greater Manchester) something to feel good about. Which is much needed these days. It wasn't the time or the place for it(wrong format).

Personally, I wasn't fuming about it at all though, press conferences and interviews are full of silly questions these days. It might not have been a dig at City to please the United fans but even if it was, the M.E.N still do that from time to time too. We've seen far worse than that, she was practically sportswashing in Simon Jordan's eyes, for holding back so much.

I think it would help if there was thread for media complaints, with directions on where to lodge your complaints. Maybe no action will be taken but it's more constructive than arguing on a City forum with other blues about it, surely? Might even be more therapeutic too.

Edit: I can understand why people are getting trigger happy too, besides the fact that people have been starved of any other news. It feels like it's coming from all sides and getting more frequent. Once this whole thing has concluded and hopefully and gone in City's favour, those with youtube channels should do parodies how how bad it got. Maybe use that gag they use in the movies. A City fan flicks through his TV channels, getting more and more pissed off as it goes on: "Manch... ester... City... state owned... empty seats... inflated... 115... serious allegations... looking at relegation"...

Obviously he finds a channel he likes, the one that has City's happy ending on(treble highlights, 4 in a row, the Kahldoon lawyer squad clip with rap music, the immediate reactions from Sky Sports News and talkSport etc; so we can see the very moment they hear City have been fully exonerated) and then puts his feet up laughing and smiling.

The question is so broad anyway it is almost meaningless.

Other than for twisting into forced conclusions to score points in pointless online arguments.
