And I can't help thinking that, if there was any way this could have been dressed up as a reasonable result for the PL, the usual suspects in the press would have been promoting it. They all went very quiet, very quickly.

it was billed as the end of football Manchester city with audacity to question rule makers ..... they soon forgot that line

Over my head but isn`t , ` not unlawful in principle` suggestive that they could be used unlawfully, depending on how much you value principle.

I doubt they will issue a "minded to" before the actual decision. Both parties have already been given the chance to make any representations they wanted, and it isn't the process.

Of course, I get your point on the rules still being there in (largely) the same form but, still, the pain this whole thing caused to the PL's reputation, its perceived professionalism and even its authority was a big win, in my eyes. And I would have thought lawyers would have enjoyed the legal manoeuvring and the associated pain. Surely lawyers, of all people, must enjoy inflicting pain? :)

To be fair if i kicked richard masters in the bollocks it would knock him out as id kick him that hard his balls would hit the inside of his skull
 
Just think, somewhere in London is a office and in the office is a laptop and on the laptop is the answers we all seek, the information on that laptop could bring down a brand worth 5 billion or wipe off hundreds of millions of commercial value of the prem league, which would have negative financial impact of all clubs and possibly implement many people of corruption. The power of the information on that laptop and the 3 chaps who put that information there is immense.
This is up there with the resurrection of christ, elvis dying and a chip muffin being officially named by royal decree as a chip muffin.
