PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

With that in mind, your confidence must be verging on near certainty that the process is now merely a formality which will ultimately rule in our favour? Or am I misreading/misinterpreting?
I've always been confident that these charges won't stick or lead to any significant negative outcome. It does help increase that confidence, however, when you hear that the complainant is begging for a settlement.

One significant detail that is often forgotten, or deliberately goes unmentioned.

UEFA had the option, of appealing the CAS verdict. That recourse was there and open to them, at the time.
They couldn't appeal the verdict, just the process if they felt CAS had abused due process. That's pretty well the same for us with the PL. There has to be very narrow and specific grounds for an appeal to the courts and Swiss Courts have rarely, if ever, gone against CAS.

Depends how far you want to go back doesnt it. Arsenal were spending small fortunes on henry, bergkamp etc.
what about back to the 1930’s and herbert chapman?, poaching him and a few players from then top team huddersfield?

Arsenal like to paint themselves as the standard in running a club. I think thats why you are pretty disliked a ls a fan base.
Was this when they were paying their players through an 'employee benefit trust'?

Yes, because we aren't interested in one.

We don't know whether it's a case of (like UEFA) take a rap and get a slap on the wrist settlement, or a case of the PL know their case is unsustainable and want City's help in some way to back out of it. But whatever the reason, we rejected it.
Well let’s hope we don’t fall into the category of the 30% wrongly convicted.

City took a hit with UEFA in 2014 we won't be making that mistake again.

Unless the PL has some amazing evidence, the club is in a much stronger position with the PL allegations now than it was with UEFA in 2014. I just can't see a settlement unless it is on very favourable terms to the club, whether publicly or behind the scenes.

A classic example of how City's "crimes" were just how every club operated pre-2010.

The wording used in most articles was 'uefa could appeal against the decision in the Swiss federal courts'.

What the mechanical intricacies of that are, I really won't pretend to know. But the logic stands, there was a route for them if they really were unhappy with it, and they chose not to pursue it.

They accepted the verdict. Others, including our own media, should too.

Does that also mean Tolmie’s info that this will be resolved this year unlikely?

Ok, cheers. I've just seen a part of a post of his that someone has quoted where he said we weren't cleared by CAS. I missed that first time round. That's a common misconception amongst opposition fans and it's frustrating having to correct them time after time
The absolute bare minimum I expect from any outsider before pontificating on this subject is for them to have read the CAS report and understood what the PL charges relate to. That applies whether they're gobbing off on TV, in the papers, on here, or in the pub. Until they can demonstrate they've done both those things they can fuck right off.
