PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Sometimes I wonder which one we will get first, the verdict or the next Game of Thrones book that's been in the works for a decade.
As Mr Martin himself said recently "ffs for the millionth time the next book is deliberately titled The Winds of Winter so you can expect that the outcome will be confirmed somewhere between December 21st and March 20th" (he's a big fan of the astronomical rather than meteorological definition apparently).

And also for the millionth time, the behaviour of the club since the charges landed..... Pep's contract, Haaland's contract, signing superstars like Donnarumma, extending the stadium, clinching huge new sponsorship deals etc etc.... absolutely screams out that they know full well the way the wind has blown
I said City are confident. I mentioned soft signals multiple times in the past. They are confident.

But they don't KNOW and acknowledge the decision may say things they don't like.

My email sent 9:05 today.

Dear David

Thank you for your reply to my initial enquiry.

A month on from this, are we still in the same situation of not knowing the outcome to the case? Some people have suggested that the outcome might be released during the November international football break. Do you have any indication about when the outcome will be made public?

Many thanks

His reply at 9:55 today:

No developments. No fresh information.

Regards

David

As before, this is a genuine email from me and a genuine response from David, even though I haven't screen shot the message this time.

Perhaps they feel they have done nothing wrong, and therefore nothing to worry about, just a case of resolving the matter once and for all, I think that was what they put out in the initial statement.

aaahhhh......this is at the top of the charts again. Just had a wee look at what's going on and it appears not much.

I think to speed things along we should negotiate a plea bargain and offer to plead guilty to a charge of upsetting the apple cart and making trouble for the establishment.

I was referring to the commission, not the lawyers.

And actually the rule you quoted related specifically to an appeal, which given we haven't had a decision then we won't have appealed.
Yes. The three Judges would certainly have formed some sort of view by the end of the hearing. Perhaps not their final view but a good idea of the broad issues. Deliberating and writing up their final decision is the longest part of the process. Like you I am surprised by the length of time it has taken. Whatever the decision the biggest risk to both parties is the subsequent catastrophic damage to reputation. Both sides will have prepared comprehensive comms strategies in the event of any outcome and the lawyers would have had input into these discussions. So there will certainly be background discussions happening based on likely outcomes in advance of any decision.
