PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

I really wish I had your confidence mate.

Every business is involved (at least) a few 'dodgy dealings', no matter how small or large. It's the nature of the beast.

If only one charge can be proved against City, the PL and media (and no doubt UEFA) will absolutely to town on us.

I must start taking the positive pills!
I am worried, I have just posted and have done many times in the past, why have the club allowed the anti City/Arab narrative that has been with us since the first day of the takeover.

Our owners/execs business model has been outstanding and ground breaking, we have revolutionized world football, lets not be modest, we simply have.

So why have they allowed the reputation of the Club and the owners Nation to be dragged through the mud?

That's the worry I have, have we been creative? Is that why we have kept so passive?

One other worry in the CAS case was the technicalities of time, which we used to gain a positive outcome but all it did was allow the rumors to continue. If we are 100% not guilty , would you nor present every pieces of evidence possible to do so?

I would also add that any business that is not creative won't be a business for long.

About the Government white paper regarding regulating football. If a regulatory body had been put in place could the PL have charged us, or would that be up to the regulatory body? And would the regulatory body (when in place) have the power to quash any charges, if we provided them with conclusive evidence?
That was deliberation so we don't know what regulatory body would do and will they be given power to look into books

This is making me seriously consider dosing myself up on Sunday with extra painkillers to get to the Aston Villa game to make sure that I can beard some of those alleged journalists in their seats at the back of 125! I used to exchange a bit of banter with some of them but it won’t be banter now!!
This is our club they are trying to destroy and I haven’t been supporting them for over 60 odd years for that lot to tear them down now!
THIS IS THE BEST TEAM IN THE LAND AND ALL THE WORLD!!

Go and jump in the lake whoever is behind this. Make sure the water is freezing because you will need to be ready for the freezing out from City as they beat the flaming, stupid, mindless, unintelligent excuse for human beings into submission.

Sorry for the rant but I’ve lost my calm and reasonable nature and I’m becoming Ms Angry 2023!!
You are the epitome of a proper old school City fan Eccles. My boys in the family stand have been told about you and whenever John Stones does something good they point towards the Colin Bell stand and shout “that was for Eccles Blue”. Different generations, the same BLUE blood. Hope you are getting better?

CITY TIL WE DIE

Seriously, I think you've got this wrong mate. I seem to recall that a person mentioned in some of the e-mails who I think was referred to as His Highness (and presumed by our accusers to be Mansour) turned out to be somebody else - Sheikh Tahnoon:

"The leaked emails also made mention of “His Highness” which was assumed to mean City owner Sheikh Mansour.

But City’s team said that this in fact referred to Sheikh Tahnoon, chairman of the Abu Dhabi Tourist Authority – the CAS panel said there was no reason to believe that was untrue."

I've literally just read the relevent section of the report and I'm not wrong. Page 68, sections 230-234.

Pearce testifies what he said in the emails was wrong, CAS says UEFA have no proof he's lying so have to side with City.

Agreed. We'll be made an example of. They wouldn't have bothered with a 4 year investigation if they didnt have strong evidence. The independent commission will feel pressure to throw the book at us.
If they had strong evidence why has it taken at least 4 years to compile? And only been done a couple of days before government influenced regulation?

I think CAS already ruled on the fair market value of sponsorships, so I think that's going to be a really tricky one not just to prove, but to justify. People keep saying CAS stuff was time barred and PL stuff isn't, but IIRC correctly they said either 'not established or time barred' and not sure they ever released further detail? Maybe they did and I missed it.

For me, the strangest one is the Mancini contract payments. In the scale of a football club, 1.5m is a tiny amount of money, and if he had obligations related to the contract and fulfilled them (even if you don't like the terms), I can't see how that goes anywhere either? Admittedly I don't know the details or what the PL think they have, but it hardly seems like a smoking gun even if true, and definitely not to the level of severity they are trying to attach to it. Mancini is free to take on other work if his full time employers don't object.

Huge rush to pile on from other clubs, but I can't see anything that's all that serious here?

I do worry a little that this will cause huge changes to the Premier League, but maybe that's what they deserve, the fucking clowns. You still have some of the big teams set on the Super League, City aren't going away and I can't really see them accepting a punishment that sees them competing in a lower league.

The much feared 'breakaway' is closer than ever I think...
