PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

This is brilliant. I'm writing my next missive for KOTK so have been going through the rule books to see exactly what we've been charged with, and it's clear the Pl have fucked it up big time. For example, in 2011/12, they've charged us with a breach of Rule E11. That rule in the 2011/12 Pl Handbook says "Each club shall enter the FA Cup".

I've looked at a few others and it's a similar story. They've seemingly charged us against another rule which says that, except for televised games, all PL games will be played on Saturdays at 3pm.

It's an absolute fuck up.
You cross referencing the first release or second? Remember the first one accused us of having an overgrown lawn

Now that we have our top class legal team appointed, I’m really hoping the club - in the form of the Chairman and the CEO put out a measured, dignified but defiant further response to the charges, and indeed the behaviours of the PL and Media outlets since they were laid. The club’s initial statement was okay but given the media storm and spiteful speculation being thrown at us from all directions, we need to be a little more assertive. It will greatly encourage those within the club, the fans and those (few) who have stepped forward to support us.

No.

They won't be making any further statement. They've already made one and they don't need to make another the day after to make panicking City fans feel better.

BBC website have a Q&A piece on it.

Guess what, not one single examination of the consequences of City being found not in breach of the PL rules.

Zip on City reputational redress.
Nada on previous media hysteria on 2014 'pinch' and UEFA/CAS and it's complete exhoneration outcome.
Zilch on PL impartiality & governance ramifications.
Complete silence on 'cartel' or any other clubs being examined on breaking financial rules, past the 6 years "time limit". Despite obvious ones like Liverpool hacking.
Ignores the looming spectre of backdoor ESL.
No mention of the 'minor' spending of Chelsea in the past 2 transfer windows, the debt laden clubs, the leeching white US owners.

So... completely as you'd expect

If it’s BBC sports you can guarantee it’ll be written by a Rag - it’s the first question at interview….. Are you regularly seen in public sporting a tank top?

I really think someone made school boy error by coming out blazing at city. They underestimated big time and hopefully these cunts will get a life lesson once and for all.
Like newton’s law .

No f*cking about from City! He was probably approached a while back and has been preparing our defence for some time.

Lord Pannick KC is one of the UK’s most highly regarded advocates, practicing in a broad range of areas with a particular emphasis on Public law, Human Rights and Constitutional Law and specialising in appellate advocacy in most areas of law, from commercial disputes to trusts law. He has acted in a large number of the leading public law cases of the last 30 years, appearing in 100 cases in the Appellate Committee of the House of Lords (before it was replaced by the Supreme Court), more than 25 cases in the Supreme Court since its creation in 2009, more than 25 cases in the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg and over 30 cases in the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. He appears both for Claimants and for Respondents –whether government departments or other public bodies. He acted for Gina Miller in the Supreme Court in September 2019 when the Court held, by 11-0, that the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, had unlawfully prorogued Parliament and so Parliament was recalled the next day. More recently he has advised Mr Johnson in relation to the inquiry by the House of Commons Committee of Privileges into whether the then Prime Minister misled Parliament about parties at No. 10 Downing Street in breach of Covid regulations. His recent cases in the Supreme Court include litigation in the fields of employment law, trusts law, patent law and commercial law, as well as public law. He regularly appears in the courts of Hong Kong both for and against the government.

Lord Pannick KC is recommended in both of the leading independent legal directories:

  • Administrative and Public Law - "He has a brain the size of a planet and could turn his hand to anything." (2020) "Mesmerising to listen to in court." (2021) "He is the most brilliant advocate at the Bar." (2021)
  • Civil Liberties and Human Rights - "David is the leading barrister in human rights." (2020) "His level of skill and ability is astonishing." (2022)
  • European Law - "Unbelievably knowledgeable about how different areas of law interact; there is nothing he can't turn his hand to." (2020)
  • Professional Discipline - "He has an impressively broad practice and is an extremely good advocate." (2019)
  • Telecommunications -"A brilliant advocate whose analysis is just excellent." (2020) "He is, as is universally recognised, one of the great barristers of his generation." (2021)

Great name for a lawyer as well! Can you imagine the headlines if lord panic gets us off lol

Can someone ask Mr Pannik to ask why the fuck we’ve not had a penalty against united in the league for 15 or so years yet they have had loads against us?
Also why VAR only gets played from all angles, and the lines come out when it is favourable to them.

How many times do we see their games continue like nothing just happened when an opposition player is hacked down, or one of their players hand balls in the box. Commentary pretends nothing happened also, bent bastards.

They all shit in the same pot mate!

It's an ego game for these people, Lord Pannick will probably luncheon with Rosen every other week and both won't hesitate to pull the trigger on each other.

Paul Harris was the real star last time out. A phenomenal job.

Dream team pairing.
Pannick and Jason Lewis, the KC for the premier league are in the same chambers.

Only winners in this whole mess are lawyers.
