PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

They have given us 2 weeks to respond. Tell them, we are ready now. Bring it on.
Two weeks to respond to 101 charges based on 10 years of accounts including broad allegations that we have presented false accounts for nine periods in a row? From an organisation which apparently briefed the media even before they served us with the charges yesterday. This really is a set-up.

I'm sorry...what's that again?!?!?

Interesting that during Stefan's later brilliant summation and analysis of the charges (as usual!!) we heard Lloyd ask his thoughts on this during yesterday's CitySpaces.

However, Stefan seemed intent that he believes the PL charges and UK white paper report timing are unrelated.

Stefan is absolutely fantastic, and would love to ask him some questions on this, but while I ain't no Nostradamus...
  • it sure seems like a strikingly odd coincidence given the economic and political climate in England and Europe, with fans growing resentment towards the PL for its wealth, refs/VAR, fairness, and ever increasing sense of disconnection from English fans...

  • To then risk presenting such a massive, archaic, and comprehensive case that could take years, without clear guidance for determining any punishment and cause the PL its own problems I suspect will wind up as severe as it gets says A LOT. Why?

  • I believe the charges smell motivated highly by those clubs who we know hate us, along with the same fans and journalists bitterly angry at City for "ruining football" for a decade, who were then further angered when we pretty much walked away from UEFA charges at CAS.

  • The added key motivation would then be to use City as the scapegoat to throw to the wolves, as they hide behind the populist driven form of revenge to exorcise, or purge this so-called great Satan that keeps "getting away"...

as it's always easier to point the finger than look inward.

    "Problem solved, gents. Good show."

Good post. Thanks. Stefan appears to me to be collecting clicks. Good for him.

Since nothing is time barred apparently, the club should issue a retrospective bill to United for the loan of the Maine Road stadium for their games when the Swamp was bombed out of action and playing kits they used provided by City in 1945. Let's call it £50 million.

I just read your Twitter about this. Fair play to you.
Look I am no expert but the PL charge sheet put out early yesterday appeared unintelligible to me. Now I know I understand very little about their rule book but the presentation to me look like a school project. After four years you would think they would have come up with something more impressive.
Our response in contrast was short sharp and to the point.

I’m no expert but that’s what is being talked about. Even that slimey twat Simon Stone at the BBC said this could well take years, if that is the case that can only mean one thing, City dragging the cartel reps through the courts, happy to be told if I am wrong.

This is the usual biased BBC bullshit but in this they are quoting a Sports Law Lawyer Ashley Cukier under the bit “What will happen to Man City”

Indicates that the process is two stages at most and internal rather than external although he does use the words generally speaking.
