PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

No, its not inconceivable. None of us know. What I do know though is ALL headlines around this have been written for Utd and lfc fanbases - What would you want to hear if you support those clubs....
"Our owners could go to jail"
"Titles will be taken off us"
"Titles and cups will be awarded to them instead"
Do you accept those things as possible? What about Pep taking bungs as was accused years ago? Not inconceivable?

Its all dreamland stuff created just to bring clicks. Why no headlines about City claiming compo if we are innocent? Because its not popular. None of those fanbases would go near that. So they talk shit about City and KNOW some will believe it and thats all it needs.

As for the actual compo (I am nowhere near knowing anything about legal stuff) but that would open a can of worms. We could claim compo for Utd failing FFP because they materially cheated us out of wins against them, lfc too failed FFP, in effect cheating. Leicester - Has anyone yet brought compensation claims against them?
Not only that, can the PL award compo to those teams? I suspect not, they cant tell City to hand over billions of pounds just because. And if that does happen than whats to stop City and ALL clubs claiming off each other because of FFP failures? For compo to be awarded it sounds very muich like we would have to be found guilty of very serious crimes such as cooperating with our auditors to create a different picture, defrauding HMRC etc.

The PL have created a mess and they know it. Its why they never before bothered about this shit because it was a can of worms... Until the govn said they will regulate, then they did something, and they did it on behalf of the red cartel clubs but thats just my opinion.

And after painting that picture, not 1 person in the media described a legal case involving every club that’s played in the football pyramid (clubs relegated affected clubs in the championship etc etc) spending a decade or more in litigation as the death of football yet City point out rules are unlawful & it’s the end of the game as we know it.

Mehh, it's all old news. We always knew they would do it, why they would do it and how they would do it and now we know they have done it.

And if they didn't do it after all the Ziegler fuss of the last six months it would be a sign that the case had gone badly for them.

The only new things we know are exactly which clubs are involved and that we now know for sure all the leaking comes from one of those clubs (the PL hasn't leaked since they were caught out by the leaking by Arsenal of the APT document). None of the clubs commented to the Times, my arse.

So take your pick ......

All well and good that most of us are convinced we will win this case, but what does Omar know? Can't see the rags serving legals if they didn't get the nod from Omar that there was a chance they could win, hopefully it's a load of made up bullshit, but it does seem weird it's the rags considering a few of ours have jumped ship to them

As we like conspiracy theories on here, how about this one. City and United are getting on swimmingly at the moment (Ratcliffe isn't going to upset the Emiratis) so United have gone along with the other cunts and will be sharing information with City about what is going on.

Sort of like City did with UEFA with the ESL but in reverse. I like a good conspiracy, me :)

I thought Stefan said that individual clubs couldn't sue others in the league as it was against Premier League rules. The only thing that could happen is the tribunal to award damages. I may be totally wrong there's been about 1000 pages since I read it and may well be totally wrong.
No, you are correct.

“Five clubs applied for compensation when Everton were sanctioned for breaching Profitability and Sustainability Rules last season — Leeds United, Leicester City, Nottingham Forest, Burnley and Southampton — but those claims have since been withdrawn or are still unresolved.”

So no one who has applied for compensation has been successful….

Great post. As you say, where does it end.

If City are cleared, I don’t think that alone will give us the basis to start a claim for compensation but if we also had strong evidence that all along this was being driven by certain clubs then surely we’d be able to claim compensation from those clubs for the clear and obvious reputational damage to our club and brand.

City should brief one of their go to journalists and actually name those same 4 clubs in Ziegler’s piece. Not outright accuse them of course but state “If City are cleared and it’s then proven that United, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Spurs were behind this in demanding they punish City regardless of whether any evidence existed or not then City will be putting in a claim for compensation against those clubs”.

Let’s see how the Cartel Cunts like it being thrown back in their faces!

They could phrase it like Zieglers….

Manchester City have taken the step of formally registering possible compensation claims via arbitration before a potential statute of limitations deadline last week, sources have told The Times. The club involved declined to comment.
