PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

I made the mistake of checking the views of the Everton punishment on a couple of my own clubs fan forums & was disappointed, but not surprised, to see that most posters there have swallowed the anti City media bullshit that has been pumped out over many years, hook, line & sinker.
It’s all desperately sad to read the complete rubbish being repeated as facts, when in reality, City’s owners are the absolute dream ownership that just about every supporter would love at their club.
I should add that in fairness, there were not that many comments on the Everton issue, but with one notable exception, the posters had clearly found City guilty, albeit, without having a clue what the charges actually relate to.

The Prem want to keep this all in house with their Kangaroo court and officials who support red teams , but it cant, and wont be that way. They are accusing some very big political powerful people of fraud on a grand scale. The Prem see it as a football matter the people accused wont. Are the prem so thick and stupid that they cant see the ramifications of their actions ? This will go beyond football ,the Sheikh and/or Khaldoon only have to move some contracts around and take some away from the government give them to other countries, and Sunak will make this his number one priority, because he cant afford the country losing investment at a time when he needs as much funds in the country to try and buy votes in a looming election .

And if it is criminal behaviour we are being charged with then surely the matter would fall outside the remit of the PL, and into the courts of law, which include all the rights of appeal.
Including directly challenging the concept and implementation of FFP!

Maybe that’s the threat city should use? Charge away, make it criminal and we will have you served up on a platter.

Totally agree with that. But what if (genuinely if) we are guilty then we must face up to the facts and punishments.

The issue at the moment other than the PL coming out with the statement that City have breached 115 rules (relating to literally everything not specifically FFP) there is nothing to state exactly what we have been accused of. This issue we have is these breaches were first mentioned a year ago, and what’s happened since? Is there a date set for city to plead its case, has this already been done, how long does this whole process take?

Nobody knows. It’s a a complete shit show
We have been accused of Fraudulent accounting, cooking the books whatever you want to call it by the prem league . At this point they have produced no evidence of this accusation , also if they did have evidence then by law they should inform the relevant authorities because not to do so is a criminal act in itself, they have not done this either.

It is not fucking negative ffs. It is just being factual.

It is great that we all want to cling onto anything anyone says and be dismissive and pretend it is all trivial.

That not the reality, that's just being selective, and then extending it to being dishonest.

I am positive in that I believe the club guys, and mostly expect a good outcome. And it will fill all the better, the real scale of it, and not the pretend 'it's nothing' head in the sand.
Why so aggressive. OK your not being negative I thought it come over like that. Sorry you feel so offended. Fucking hell.

Do you have inside knowledge that there is no “hard evidence”? Nobody on here has much idea what the evidence against us is, we know the charges but the evidence is only disclosed to City…two completely different things. My concern is that since the CAS verdict, the PL have got their hands on additional evidence which now merits them charging us and them feeling more confident about it. However, all the evidence they have needs to be made available to us ahead of the “trial” so there won’t be any bombshells dropped in court.
In my view it was no coincidence at all that the charges were rushed out by the PL (hence the mistakes, initially) at the same time as it became clear that the govt was serious about an independent regulator. Nothing to do with "additional evidence" IMO.

People say it's all a stitch-up but the fact they charged City with serious matters shows you that it
isn't a stitch-up. It's a very bold move from the
Premier League.

I’m one of those people who thinks it’s a stitch up due to pressure from outside influences. I don’t understand how this proves it’s not.

Fair enough, I understand the why nots. We could still release a version that is simple to understand while not implicating the club.

We publish detailed accounts anyway. So why not explain the image rights and any other smoking gun the premier think they have.

The club if charged with fraud is facing an existential existence. Maybe time we pushed the narrative using our own platform. I am well aware it won’t happen but still it’s a nice thought -:)

The club can’t release anything or do anything that could be considered prejudicial. They need to treat this like a court case.

What they have done is make a very clear statement of their innocence and said they have irrefutable evidence.

We have to trust that they would not make such a statement if it were not true.

If we end up finding out that the most senior people at our club are liars and cheats, we should be very angry with them and work to have them removed from the club etc. However, they have given us no good reason to doubt them and they will hopefully be vindicated in good time. Meanwhile, we should continue to enjoy the finest football team these shores have ever witnessed.

That’s no different to me going around saying that Eamon Homes is a monkey eating lettuce with tentacles as fingers. It’s complete factless allegations and unless I could prove the above, then there’s nothing to answer. Why haven’t City gone and asked for proof and a hearing on said 115 alleged offences so it can be played out in court etc?

That’s the part that baffles me. Nothing is happening
