Already happened. Replacing Teamviewer was a long process and not at a record level, Chelsea have had an associated party and despite being June 2024 have no proper replacement for Samsung, Arsenal just have the oil money crew ; ), Villa just got Betano despite the CL qualification, Liverpool haven't had a new FOS since 2010, Newcastle got Sela etc etc. This nonsense is going to act as a huge disincentive to sponsor PL clubs. Firms will look elsewhere if they are going to be subjected to the nonsense being introduced by the PL. F1 and Rugby etc… will all look far more attractive.
Similar with arsenal fan.My nephew is a dipper, because of his dipper scum bag father, but when asked yesterday, couldn't name one of the charges.
I agree with virtually all your post but disagree on British people. There has always been a cynical attitude towards people who are successful in the UK. I think it is a trait of a large segment of the population. A bit of healthy skepticism is positive but I really do believe we have a very negative media here...much worse than many other countries. You are right that the media is primarily intrested in making money but to do that they have to provide what people want. The Daily Mail and its website is very popular in the UK. There is a big audience for the sort of content they provide...albeit a dwindling one. This is just wrong.
The clamour to find us guilty is led by the media, but that's not because they hate winners. It's because a clamour to find us guilty generates significantly more revenue than would a clamour to find us innocent.
The media are in it for themselves - for the money.
This works in a number of ways. Self evidently, there is much more engagement in anything that says 'City are guilty' than in the opposite. This is because fans of the most popular teams all want us to be guilty, therefore will engage more actively with anything that reflects that. Every single media outlet with any serious presence has explored the 'City are Guilty' story from numerous angles, and they have all gone down very well with a lot of people who get to read the stories they want to read.
Of course, it is not just a question of what gets clicks. The stories that are planted and leaked, they are done by individuals with their own agenda. What might be in it for the journalists writing this stuff up? Access? Further leaks? Off-the-record briefings? There is a long history of journalism being a two-way-street - you scratch my back etc.
The important point is that this is not some particular quirk of the British people. There are vested interests at work. That is why there is such a clamour to find City guilty.
Or all our earnings from winning the odd pot here & there. Must’ve made a few quid there tooSounds about right, the same with our transfers, they become big stories with signing on and agents fees etc. What is never mentioned is that over the last few years we have received over half a billion incoming to balance the books, which most opposition fans seem unaware of. probably because it's a story that doesn't get the engagement.
FFS, you'd think we rose from Manchester Sunday league Div. 7, we finished 9th in the PL the season before ADUG took over.My favourite is the stuff about how quickly the club rose from relative mediocrity to world champions.
Not even non-cooperation?My nephew is a dipper, because of his dipper scum bag father, but when asked yesterday, couldn't name one of the charges.
Hammarby fans pulled this one up after they scored the 3rd goal in their away win in the Stockhol derby. We should just do it to any of the red clubsWe should have TIFO like this at evey home match in the PL with Jim Tolmie or Liam
That’s why I said ‘relative mediocrity’ in comparison to what we are now.FFS, you'd think we rose from Manchester Sunday league Div. 7, we finished 9th in the PL the season before ADUG took over.
Wasn’t this City’s argument to the High Court It’s also one major reason as to why Super League won v UEFAThe PL also has its own sponsorship deals. Why should any private firm open its books to a third party which has a track record of leaking sensitive information to the media. It really is madness. Masters is a total moron.
I sincerely hope that is exactly the same line of evidence that the PL offers the panel, as it will be a very short deliberation if it is.Similar with arsenal fan.
When asked what we’re guilty of, you get ‘cheating innit’
Asked for evidence you get ‘we all know you cheated’
My favourite is the stuff about how quickly the club rose from relative mediocrity to world champions. This apparently can’t be done without cheating.
I point out that 30 years ago no-one had heard of Amazon, but a business with the right plans, the right ambition and the right people doing the right jobs, there is no need to cheat.
‘Yeah, but we all know you cheated innit’
Yes that's the narrative, the facts are only five clubs have spent more time in the top division than city, we truly are one of the "BIG SIX".FFS, you'd think we rose from Manchester Sunday league Div. 7, we finished 9th in the PL the season before ADUG took over.
It was also the reason why we refused to co-operate with UEFA and why CAS massively reduced our fine. There is something drastically wrong at the top of the PL leadership team. It is ridiculous to expect huge private firms to share their confidential business information with their commercial rivals. That is a huge financial risk for any firm to make. No sane person would trust the senior people at the top of the PL not to leak information. They have been totally compromised by giving undue influence to a small group of clubs at the expense of every other club. It is just a re-run of the UEFA debacle. Richard Masters was told by a Commons Select Committee Chair: "It appears that you don't know what you are doing." That was a reference to the Super League fiasco but Masters can't continue in his current role. The PL has become a joke.Wasn’t this City’s argument to the High Court It’s also one major reason as to why Super League won v UEFA
With highly polished shoes..The scary thing about them is they could be anywhere. They look just like you or me (but with their trousers too high, a bit of plastic tape on their glasses, and pens in their pocket).
One of the reasons for the reduced fine for non cooperation was City’s complaints about the confidential investigative chamber leaking, in particular Leterme the disgraced former Belgium PM. City went to CAS with this complaint pre the actual case but they refuse to rule on itIt was also the reason why we refused to co-operate with UEFA and why CAS massively reduced our fine. Is that the only thing in this an and all the previous investigations we’ve been fined for, non cooperation because we felt there were leaks? Was that the 2014 thing, didn’t we have to reduce our squad as well? One of the reasons for the reduced fine for non cooperation was City’s complaints about the confidential investigative chamber leaking, in particular Leterme the disgraced former Belgium PM. Our fantastic bargains go unnoticed too. Akanje £15m, Julian A £16m, Ortega free and our free men from the academy, Phil, Rico, Oscar. 6 of the current senior squad, likely starters, cheap as chips.Sounds about right, the same with our transfers, they become big stories with signing on and agents fees etc. What is never mentioned is that over the last few years we have received over half a billion incoming to balance the books, which most opposition fans seem unaware of. probably because it's a story that doesn't get the engagement.
Can't wait for all the outrage when they hear about the earnings and prize money we could receive from next year's WCC.Or all our earnings from winning the odd pot here & there. Must’ve made a few quid there too
So true we hear a lot about 50m full backs, but these deals never get mentioned, wonder why?Our fantastic bargains go unnoticed too. Akanje £15m, Julian A £16m, Ortega free and our free men from the academy, Phil, Rico, Oscar. 6 of the current senior squad cheap as chips.
A Liverpool fan in work said the same thing to me. He said that City were a yo-yo club through our entire history. I told him that only Everton, Liverpool, United, Villa, and Arsenal have spent more time combined in the top flight league than City. United have only spent 4 years more combined than City in the top flight. If not for our late 1990s relegation craziness, then City would still to this day have been in more top flight seasons than United.FFS, you'd think we rose from Manchester Sunday league Div. 7, we finished 9th in the PL the season before ADUG took over.
