PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

There was a distinct change in the Times overage towards City after they were misled about the UEFA case. The CAS decision made them look stupid. A lot of fake news has been circulated. This Forum, biased as we all are, has mostly been reliable so far.
Yup and 'double yup' to your last two sentences.

I 'engage' with the various media outlets as in how one would engage using the proverbial 'ten foot barge pole'. If I want to know about anything City, I get it from here, warts and all, tribal or whatever.

It has amazed me down through the years of this concerted, malevolent assault on our club, orchestrated by the Red Cartel and others at home and abroad who have cronied up with that Cartel, that not one of those media outlets has taken up the very sensible offerings posted in here by so many well-informed Blues to investigate openly and properly just WHY all of this has happened, just WHY City has been targeted in this way. Surely there's an article or a programme therein which could not only be of interest but which could be 'media gold'?

Of course, of course, I DO know the answer(s) to that naive observation of mine. But it really f**ks me off that, after sixteen years of constant vilification, hardly anyone in the media has ever stepped up and said about us (what I call the 'Sergeant Wilson Contribution'!) 'Hang on a minute.. do you think that's wise, sir?'

2nd most expensive property purchase in London and Starmer in Abu Dhabi with his begging bowl ! Not sure this backs up Cheesey’s 40 points jackanory !

I guess the window for any government intervention in this has long since passed, but it seems inconceivable that the 115 case won't come up during Starmer's visit, especially if he is desperately seeking investment for the UK. A British institution, in the form of the Premier League, is actively seeking to sabotage a multi-billion pound asset of the vice president and deputy prime minister of the United Arab Emirates. There's no way that's just getting swept under the carpet for the sake of diplomacy.

Agree that there can’t be any intervention - that ship sailed a long time ago. But the idea that Starmer is visiting Abu Dhabi with a begging bowl at a time an Independent Tribunal is listening is to the Premier League charge one of their royal family and some of their most important major corporations of a wide scale fraud conspiracy is truly bizarre.

TV footage of Mansour greeting Starmer with warm smiles and friendly hugs while agreeing to pump investment into the UK is going to provoke a social media/media meltdown.

The IC members don’t exist in a bubble. They will be aware of the potential diplomatic, political and economic ramifications of finding against City on the serious charges of fraudulent accounting. To reach a guilty verdict will require compelling documentary evidence and if the PL had that evidence City would have reached a compromise settlement with the PL a long time ago.

Is that the way we want to get off the chargeses ?
I would rather the chargeses are debunked by irrefutable evidence.
But then again the cartel and their stooges in the media will spin it in either case to suit their agenda.

It would be the worst possible way to get rid of the charges, fairness and transparency should be the order of the day here not diplomatic shenanigans.

I couldn't care less in all honesty.

In the eyes of those who won't hear the truth and don't want to know the truth, the narrative has been set already. There's still those who think we only "got off" at CAS due to time barring. You can't educate those who don't want to learn. So f*ck them, they don't matter.

I just want my club to come out of this in a position of strength, ready to carry on being successful. The hater can carry on hating.

These are my thoughts too. If City execs knew they had acted in the manner in which they're alleged, they wouldn't risk allowing an independent commission to make that ruling. It'd have been admitted with compromise and settlement reached involving diplomatic relations - a long time ago.

Just guesswork of course.
