PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Always asked that question about someone when I was interviewing them for a job.

Would I go for a pint with them?

It wasn’t the be all and end all, but it was important to me; in terms of our professional relationship.

Subjectively, I think it can be a worthwhile test of someone’s character and personality.

So I asked the question for a reason.

Fucking embarrassing.

We have gone from a club probably going to enter administration pre takeover to one of the biggest sports groups in the world whilst smashing hundreds of records on the way, winning trophies we never thought possible, whilst having various corrupt organisations in European and Domestic football stack the odds ever higher against us, all in the last 17 years.

Not to mention, that no other clubs prior to our takeover had fuck all budget restrictions in their whole history, but you would feel let down, fucking pathetic…

So what if clubs prior to our takeover had no restrictions? You don't live by the law of 100 years ago do you?

If there's clear rules in place and we broke them with dodgy financial dealings, then it does taint our success, whether you like it or not.

Do you not think city fans would be calling for the relegation of rival clubs if they were in our position?

If it turns out City did break a rule, so be it, just don't be so naive as to what this is all about.

I think we will get done for non-cooperation regardless and that will be the compromise.

If we are done full throttle it will be a different matter.

The none cooperation charge should only be accepted that on the condition of teams that play in red, red and white and white have their accounts from the last 20 years equally scrutinised

You definitely don’t speak for me or any other City fans I know, whether you like it or not.

The rules were put in place because of us, not to protect football, but to keep things as they were. So it taints fuck all as the rules themselves are what should be illegal as they have nothing to do with football governance, but everything to do with keeping the what was prior to them status quo.

Couldn’t give a fuck what other clubs spend or don’t spend.

Don't agree. Chelsea spent a fucking fortune in the last 2 years and not a peep.

Do I assume that mentioning 33 CL games unbeaten (still ongoing) should have read "home games" ?

I was told by the State Manager I got the job because he asked himself that very question. When I was offered the job he then said let’s go for a pint & talk money…..

It was clear that drinking was a massive part of the job & I was delighted when he was transferred 6 months later as I was coming home from work fucking mullered every night. Let’s just say together we weren’t a good combination….

Yes, if you thought they wouldn't pay for the drinks, they were toast.

I see the forum is going through a confidence trough period, il be back when a confidence peak occurs...

It was always going to happen the nearer we get to the judgment. People of a nervous disposition will latch onto any bullshit in the press to justify a bit of knicker-wetting.

For the hundredth time, for the benefit of those people, the people on here who know about this stuff have all said it will be extremely difficult for the PL to prove their most serious allegations to the standard required. That was the only thing people actually knew eighteen months ago and it's still the only thing anybody knows. Nothing has changed. Chill out and ignore any **** on Talksport, FootballInsider, Football365 or from Reach who tells you any different.

doesn't stress me out.

Just saying I wouldn't wanna be a hypocrite when I know how much we would be tearing into other clubs if it was them and not us.

i will see how it plays out. I'm confident we can beat it, just saying it's worth exploring other options incase we are guilty.

Or maybe I'll stick with it, it's not the players fault, but I'll still be very disappointed at the people who run the club.

If you start exploring all the options you will drive yourself crazy.

But yes, you are right, if the PL can prove the most serious charges I will also be very disappointed in the people running the club. But not because they will have done it, btw, because they will have done it in a way that they get found out.

Ask any lawyer or accountant, it would have been so easy to get around the FFP rules and make sure you don't get found out and, if you do get found out, that you can provide so many other reasonable explanations that the balance of probabilities sways in your favour.

So, if they do get caught out, it's sheer incompetence.

The people running the club have made some mistakes, but they aren't incompetent imho. Just one of the reasons I think everything will be fine.
