There is no “irrefutable evidence”, that’s just a phrase used by City in its media response to underpin their confidence that they have not broken any rules. The club and its lawyers reckon the PL will probably struggle on the majority (if not - and hopefully - all) of the charges to prove the accusations “on the balance of probability”. It’s that simple.

Jordan is either being stupid or being a dick. On the balance of probability I will say a bit of both.

Why isn't there irrefutable evidence? What SJIAC completely misses is the fact that the PL could have brought charges against the club without sufficient evidence to prove them.

If we've been charged with what boils down to fraudulent accounting practice based on some hacked emails, evidence from senior officials and the audited accounts we have provided would in my mind be irrefutable evidence.

If there was irrefutable evidence then you would expect the PL legal team to advise the PL to save its money. I’m not even sure it’s possible to have irrefutable evidence for all of the charges. Okay the Mancini thing might be a sworn statement by the key individuals and copies of bank statements but even then the PL might suggest off-book arrangements. How do you prove that hasn’t occurred. Luckily the legal system will be concentrating on the likelihood of this happening and will demand evidence from the PL which is equally likely to not be irrefutable evidence.

Yeah I see where you're coming from. Semantics ultimately. We could believe our evidence is irrefutable, but that's only true if we do get off the charges!

I wouldn't expect any lawyers to turn down a lucrative job!
