PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

You aren't seriously suggesting United are funding these purchases out of administrative savings?

Also, the above conspiracy was yours. It's perfectly possible the PL lawyers gave negative feedback on the hearings to the PL, that this was passed down to the usual suspects and they have decided there is no point waiting another year to invest, PSR be damned.

Admin savings?
Salary saved probably less than £10M pa, less redundancy costs. Cant buy a decent youth team player for that. There is something in the wind we don't know about, besides the so called public info.
If this amount of spending had been betting, the bookies would have shut down the suspicious market.

And FFP be damned because squads have to be compliant with those rules as well? If so why weren't they damned when we won at CAS? Some posts that need to be revisited when everything is known, if your all correct and PSR is over I will gladly admit I was wrong.

I'm of the opinion that if charge X is found not guilt/no case to answer then the other 10 charges for the same thing in other seasons can just show...

I could have been more precise if I could have been bothered. I imagine points penalties for failing the three year loss limits are a thing of the past, ie dead. I wouldn't be surprised if points deductions for any breach of future financial regulations, such as SCR, are off the table as well. At the very least, I wouldn't like to be the PL if they do apply points deductions when several clubs have driven a coach and horses through the current PSR without sanction.

Hard to see how these guys have been isolated in a papal conclave for 9 months. It is highly likely that contact at least indirectly has taken place between the panel and interested parties. While no official definitive communication will have taken place it may well be that the powers that be have formed in their minds the likely contours of the result.
The PL may well have relayed this perspective to cartel members who then decided to loosen the purse strings. They may have reasonably decided that, if not abolition, significant changes to the PSR rules are in the pipeline.

I don't think it's anything like that high, and latest interest payments I can see are £37m a year. That's a lot of money, but if you look at that list, it would take them down to "only" the fifth richest club in the world (below Bayern, but still above Barcelona who have huge debts).

I don't accept that. Far more complex cases are sorted by juries in a matter of days in both criminal and civil cases. While complex in nature these charges are meat and veg to serious legal heads on the panel. They have had 8 fuckin months now, how much longer to you want to give them?
Also it is not true there are 130 separate complex charges as many are interrelated and some indeed are relatively trivial and straightforward. No this corrupt process is demonstrating it is not fit for purpose and hopefully will be consigned to the bin moving forward.

I think any bookie that opens a book might be surprised in the interest. But conversely it could be seen to definitely be a volatile market which could swing almost any way depending who you support. I suppose even with the ‘result’ being announced it could be quite complex and not clear cut. The betting options would have to be worded very carefully.
