PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

The conventional wisdom appears to be that when the news eventually breaks it will be on a Monday or Friday. Why is that?

I think the idea is that previous awards have been given to the parties for a couple of days to check before they were released. So distribution on a Friday, a couple of days in the weekend to check and a release on a Monday makes sense as it reduces the chance of deliberate or accidental leaks.

Not sure that applies to this case, though. There will presumably be so much to read and check.

It makes me laugh more at the fools.

Is that Gundo who we brought back, last season, with a guarantee of an extra year, depending on the number of games he played?
Is that Bernado, who’s asked to leave almost every year for the last 5 and been told he can’t?
Is that Akanji, who signed a 5 year contract when he signed in 2022, and whose contract will expire in 2027?
Is that John Stones, who’s asked to signed a 5 year contract extension in 2021, which will expire next year?

Culprits seems like a poor take.
Exactamundo. Contracts are a two way thing. No player has to leave.

Haaland is a great example of why sometimes it's better to go without for a short period and get the player you really want when that deal is possible.

If the right player at RB becomes available I'm sure we'll make a move. But we won't make a move for the wrong player at the wrong price just because supporters are crying about how tough our recruitment policy is on them.
Short period of time, maybe. We didn’t go without a left back for a short period of time. For 5 years or so we made something work. The size of our club it’s poor and shows poor planning. There’s no guarantee we’d get a right back next year. To not have a right back in the squad is fucking mental, and no, Lewis is not a right back.

Key point here. We made it work.

I'd love a top quality right back, but if the right one isn't available right now or is too expensive it's downright stupidity to just buy anyone.

That's what the likes of the rags have been doing the past 10 years, and far from showing good planning it shows insecurity and a lack of confidence in the excellent players in the squad that have achieved so much.
