It reminds me very much of the oft attributed to Mark Twain quote that “it's easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled".

It’s a saying for our times and, I don’t believe, it’s ever been truer.

It’s why people who’ve been scammed are more likely to be victims in the future and why, in the face of overwhelming evidence, people double down on previous positions.
It’s also why 95% of journalists (and other UK football fans) can’t countenance we might just be innocent of these charges as they’ve bought into it all, hook, line and sinker
They’re so far down the rabbit hole that, even if they ever do consider a not guilty verdict might apply, they then immediately caveat it with ‘government interference’ or ‘brown envelopes’.

Yes, I'm aware of this quote and concept. The psychology behind it is that if you admit to yourself you were fooled, you admit you are a fool and people can't do that. The post Brexit reaction is the best example of it in my lifetime. There's also no doubt to me that you're right about the non-City football world making mass assumptions and also that whatever happens they will stick to them. Bot I'm expressing concern here that a lot of Blues on this thread have gone the entire other way. They've convinced themselves that City will come out of this and "go nuclear" on everyone in football - the press, the FA, other club owners etc. I think a lot of posters are deluding themselves based on very little.

If we are substantially cleared at least one journalist will have a melt down. They will be legalled, make a public apology, and pay a substantial donation to charity. Every other article will continue with loose criticism and include an allegedly. This case was always about damaging the club through whatever means necessary and it has already succeeded

Not sure what going nuclear would look like. Its easy to say it would be the death of the Premier League if City were cleared, but what the fuck would I watch on Saturday then? And Sunday. And every other day of the week that they can shoehorn a game in ;)

While i can see your reasoning does it not beg the question that following the cas verdict what other possible reason could there be ESPECIALLY given the free passes that they have given to other clubs not to mention their implementation of illegal rules during the APT case.

It is patently clear that we are dealt with too a different standard than the chosen view and thats not me with my blue tinted glasses thats just objectively looking at facts.

alas, time is against me.

for me the term reggae is an umbrella that covers all the genres.
dancehall, roots, dub, lovers, rocksteady, et cetara.
