PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Of course not,but over the course of this whole investigation into City,could it possibly transpire that there is evidence of collusion between clubs and premier league (with these emails and other documents that city’s team requested apparently from the premier league)how is that dealt with in regards to the charges against City and if it is a possibility..

I suppose it would only be dealt with in the award if it was raised as a defence by the club (in the case that such evidence exists). I am sure they didn't need to do that to counter the allegations.

But could they have raised the argument in defence so it has to be laid out in the reasoning for the award, as a tactic? Possibly. Would that be "embarrassing" for the PL? Definitely. Would it cause a delay whilst negotiations are in place to minimise and settle damage? Maybe, but unlikely would be my guess.

Could it give rise to a separate action against the PL by the club? I would suggest yes?

Some while back it was said ( on here ) that after the announcement that won't be the end of things because the loser was bound to appeal , I wonder if the delay now is due to a kind of arbitration going on in the background so that when the announcement does come it will really be the end of the matter ( hopefully ! ! )

If city lose of course they will appeal, if the pl lose and they choose to appeal it will confirm that it is a witch hunt against city, the pl should be glad to lose as it shows that their processes are correct and working and that the most successful club and the flagship of their product for the past ten years has been fantastically well run.

Can you at least accept that the only thing you know for a fact is what your sources have told you? You have no way of knowing whether your sources know everything or whether they have simply told you what they want you to hear.

Fwiw, even though I am always suspicious of statements of fact from anybody these days, I think you are probably right, even after all this time, in your assessment of what you have been told. But is there not even a scintilla of thought in your mind that there may be more going on?

You fundamentally misunderstand what I have been told, by who and from where. A number of contacts with direct understanding of the situation have independently corroborated the situation. There is no concept of coordination or telling me what I want to hear because none of those parties are aware of other conversations I am having. Furthermore, there is nothing I want to hear - if the parties have had the decision for 6 months, so be it. Why do I care. But they simply haven't.

But even if none of the above was true, the actual lead KC told everyone here what the situation was about 10 days ago. You don't need to speculate at that point. And there is no possibility Pannick would lie or mislead. His reply was unequivocal. Just fucking accept it.

I could see the club appealing an unfavourable decision, but I would think when the club wins, the PL will be very happy to leave the whole episode behind with a statement of "we believe we took the correct action and we abide by the panel's decision"

If we appeal the fine, does that appeal then look at all the charges again meaning we could be done for more after an appeal or would it just look at the parts we are arguing about?

I honestly believe that the delay has been caused due to City helping the PL out in respect to damage limitation. This is taking too long they know the outcome this is all political wrangling and Horse trading at this point.

I don't think the PL product wants this or needs it. I would have thought closure on the whole thing is what both parties want. So like someone else on here said, if the Premier League do string this out, then they really are cutting off their nose to spite their face.

The new rules on tightening up time allocation were in respect of Section X arbitrations were they not, where the parties choose the arbitrators? This is a Section W disciplinary procedure, so it's the fucking PL who chose the panel members (well, their "independent" panel chairman - who they appointed - cough, cough) so surely they can't have a problem with that?

It just seems odd that the timescales were not discussed properly in advance with the panel who are being paid by the hour. The stakes are huge in this case. It could essentially destroy our club if we lose. Yet the panel members are presumably not focused entirely on this case because they have other gigs going on at the same time. It just smells of another huge fuck-up by the senior people at the PL.
