Platini {merged}

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the owners had us being self-sustaining by then...

besides, our spending is not going to be consistantly like it was this summer, it simply doesn't need to be.

Abramovich is an hypocritical T..t. He created the huge spending sprees and now that a bigger player has come in, he is trying to make sure that his team doesnt get pushed to one side.

The break even policy that Platini is talking about is surely for those clubs who have had to borrow to purchase players. Surely, if we havent borrowed any money (havent we paid cash?) we have no debt anyway!!

All Platini is doing is to safe-guard the clubs who have been dominant for the last few years because no other team will get the opportunity to break through (without the financial clout).

Perhaps the strategy that City are taking at the moment (i.e. bringing forward the spending spree) then concentrating on purchasing the best young talent and bringing them through the Academy is to accommodate platinis idea.

Spot on... our owners are far too clever to be outwitted by a hypocrite like Platini...

Exactly our owners are business genuises! They know what they are doing and have made a huge investment in the club with their own money which has caused no debt to the club and will even pay for itself over time three or four fold! They won't need to do things like this anymore and City will be fine! Thanks Sheik! The future is bright, the future is BLUE!

Clearly Platini has an agenda, but its IMO unworkable. He's a bit out of touch with present-day reality. Wants everyone to go back to a level playing field, but the cash from Sky put an end to all that years ago. Champions League is where most of the money is for the successful clubs, and let's face it, all other clubs exist at a much lower level than that.

Sounds like he's a bit miffed at Sheikh Mansour really. Maybe Platini's a bit of a Europhile ?

youth policy? It's not working well if that's the case is it....

Was John Terry the last player to come through their youth system and become a 1st team regular?

If so that's shocking!!

I meant to say , buying young players like sturridge and turnbull, and trying to buy pato and aguero. they aren't going for world class proven players.

The funny thing is, UEFA and the Champions League are actually at fault for creating such a difference in the fortunes of clubs (along with Sky domestically).

For Platini not to realise this, God only know's how far his head must be stuck up his arse!

Stop worrying about this twatzoid. He has always been full of shite and bile.

Wedderburn on form today.

"why are City being implicated in this? It seems to me City can afford it. It's Manchester United that are in massive debt. Liverpool are in massive debt."

I like the way he got his dig in.
Can't believe Lewis is backing us up to after the slagging his paper routinely gives us.
