Platini Warns City

It will most amusing if Chelsea win the CL tomorrow perhaps he will hand the trophy over and say I need to speak to your owners about their exit strategy.

Also I thought UEFA/FIFA usually followed the money.

Just thought of a way round this bollocks, is it possible that the sheikh could buy a share in one of his companies in City's name, then float the shares on the stock market, could be a good way to get some income into the club ? Any accountants on here know whether its possible ?

I'm no accountant but believe this is where we will end up eventually.

United have explored the Far East flotation, but conditions don't allow them at this time to raise the type of money they need.

There would be nothing to stop Sheikh Mansour floating on the U.A.E market and raising the best part of £600m-£1bn.

An invitational option open to some like-minded friends.

The money raised would be classed as income?

That sounds pretty good, I remember the glazers pottering around the world trying to sell bonds to every man and his dog a couple of years back, if they can do it then I don't see how UEFA could stop us.

This also, the way our profile is rising as we speak if the Sheikh decided to take a chunk of one of his hundreds of little deals like the Barclays one say 800m.

Make a small investment vehicle for it and that cash pot i feel now would not evaporate. May take a hamering for a couple of years but two more years at the top and that will steady out imo.

Half our suits cut their financial teeth in investments.

Income for who? Not for City.

Oh, I wish our owners would just fuck off and take all their money with them and whilst they're at it take all those world class players aswell, you know the ones with those shiny new premiership winners medals. I just hate being Platinis obsession.

That is exactly what Platini want to happen surely you have worked that out by now - those world class players wont dissapear they would be sold and play for the current elite on more or less the same money

I await HH Sheikh Mansour's comment about Platini statement. He doesn't even realize that when the Sheikh tookover it was a long-term investment, not to mention numerous projects that would take up to 20 years to finish...

And as some mentioned as well, why the fuck doesn't he spill some of his bollocks statements at PSG ?

THe money raised would be income, for the Sheikh. He'd only do this as a means of selling, not to raise money for the club.

I've always doubted that the Sheikh would be around for more than 10 years. By then the benefits of owning a PL club as a means of raising awareness of Abu Dhabi will decline.

But it makes no sense whatsever for Sheikh Mansour to leave the club in a financial mess. He will want to sell it as a going concern in good financial shape. He'll never recover the money he's invested in the club, but selling it as a successful business is the best way of mitigating his losses.

And the longer the Sheikh stays invested in City, the more permanent become the improvements that have been made to the club. The improvements in infrastructure, the increased fanbase, the improved commercial side will all outlast the Sheikh providing he stays for 2 or 3 more years.
