On current form who is actually good enough to warrant a place in the match day squad
Barker, Maffeo, Tasende all have had great seasons. And Kelechi looks like a hell of player.grim up north said:On current form who is actually good enough to warrant a place in the match day squad

As a matter of interest....who was the last player to come through our Acadamy & establish themselves in the team? serious question......
The problem we have is that the youth side of the club has been ignored ever since the money ruled it unimportant. To answer your question, if Richards and Sturridge had got there heads down and got on with the job, you could have named them two. Perhaps the same could have been said of Barton. For what it's worth, we have always had youth talent, shiny new facilities or not, and most poster's who read this will have had the pleasure of seeing Lake, White and Hinchcliffe in full flow. Going back further, there was Oakes, Pardoe, Young, Donachie and Barnes, and before that was my own first blue hero of that time, David Wagstaffe. He was some winger but was sold off just before Joe Mercer was appointed, presumably to help fund our rebuilding job.LadislavMplmx said:before 2008 would any of you have given a fuck who actually played if you were told we would finish in the top 2 ,,5 seasons in a row?

This just sounds like Manuel wanting to finish the season off with 5 straight wins after a shocking period, a loss could bring doubt back into the boards mind and I don't think he wants to risk that.

A game against united pointless tell that to the manchester lads playing in the game

The season is over and it's academy football anyway, a Manchester derby is hardly what it is at senior level.
Plus these academy lads would rather get their debut for the senior team, even over beating United 10-0.
