Player of the Year 13/14

I see where the Silva and Ferny supports are coming from but Yaya kills games with his goals from all angles, free-kicks and open play.

It as to come down to end-product and Yaya, for a midfielder is second to none.

He is the greatest player City have ever had and I don't say that lightly.
For a number 9 maybe.

If it came down to end product and goalscoring from midfield than Lampard is better than Zidane.

Fernandinho has been the glue of this team all year. Our best performer.

Agreed Fernandinho superb, and is badly missed when injured( until recently and Javi has stepped up) Silva is so classy and even when out of form works so hard and puts himself about, but for me Yaya is the main man, unstoppable when on a run and makes every aspect of the game look so easy, he played the creative role a few times for us but doesn't break sweat, doesn't challenge him!! Yesterdays performance is what he's all about, both goals, and that run just before he came off!! Yes he strolled back, but how else was he going to get his breath back? I fume at the "lazy Yaya" fans!!!!

Can someone not make a poll for this? Would be interesting to see, as it seems pretty split between Dave and Yaya, with a few others being thrown in.

1. Yaya -You just can't look past 23 goals from midfield
2. Silva -Our main creative spark and constantly one of the best players on the pitch. Should have more MOTMs than he has
3. Aguero -nearly 30 goals despite missing loads of games. Best goalscorer in the PL. Would be POTY if not for injuries
4. Fernandinho -The engine that liberated the attacking players
5. Nasri -Has gone off the boil since his injury but was one of our best player for most of the season.

Honourable mention for Kolarov

Yaya has been brilliant in the big games. There is no doubt about that. In fact I would say that he has had his best ever season with us.

However I still can't go past Silva. He has played majestically in every game that he has played this season. In my opinion he has been more consistent than Yaya and therefore my vote goes to the mighty Merlin.

Having said that I would be happy with a joint award. They have both been amazing.

If he wasn't injured so much this year I think it would have been an easy vote for Aguero but alas his excellent form has been interrupted this year.

So my vote is Yaya.

It seems Silva's last 3 months have severely clouded judgments. But if I remember correctly, in the first half of the season Aguero, Negredo, Nasri, and Yaya were the only real contenders. Silva while technically supreme, was mostly second fiddle to Nasri's in carrying the creative load.

So how can that same Silva now be considered consistently good all year?

I really don't think it is close at all.

There is Yaya

Some gap

Then Fernandihno, Silva, Nasri and Aguero. The latter 2 fading due to injury, and Fernadihno became less influential in the last month as Silva influence peaked at Hull and Pool.

The Silva votes is simply a recency effect. Overall I think he ends up somewhere around Dihno and slightly above Aguero but far behind Yaya.
