Player thread : Edin Dzeko (2014/15)

Re: Edin Dzeko (continued)

My only wish for the summer: please, please, please do NOT change the strike-force of Kun, Dzeko, Negredo, and Jovetic.

That is as great of a group as there is in football. And now they have chemistry....

Go after backup RB (Micah is just...done), another CB, and maybe another creative midfielder...more pressing needs anyway.

Thank you, and that's all for me :-)

I agree Eagles and I am sure the love for Edin has grown exponentially as he kept on leading the line with great aplomb. Big Ed has been outstanding in recent weeks when we really needed him to stand up and be counted.

I would be very pleased if we re-signed him. I am sure that most fans would feel the same way.

José Mourinho says Edin Dzeko should have won player of year award

• Manchester City striker 'should have beaten Luis Suárez'
• 'He behaves, he's fair, he doesn't dive' says Mourinho

José Mourinho says Edin Dzeko should have won the footballer of the year award rather than Luis Suárez. The Chelsea manager seemingly could not resist another jibe at the Liverpool striker, in comments that may be seen as revealing his interest in Manchester City's Bosnian striker at the end of a season in which he has frequently criticised his own forwards.

"My player of the year would always be from the champions," Mourinho said. "Manchester City need a point. I would say a City player and I would choose Dzeko. He was the third striker at the beginning of the season and when the team needed him, in crucial moments, he made the difference. He has 16 goals. Sixteen for the third striker is something spectacular. He's not just a goalscorer. He assists, he plays."

And in an apparent veiled reference to Suárez, Mourinho added: "He behaves, he's fair, he doesn't dive, doesn't try to put opponents on the stands with accumulation of cards."

Dzeko as a lone striker up top in Chelsea. Scary thought.

Re: Edin Dzeko (continued)

Anyone know that new Dzeko chant that was being sung yesterday before the game? Was quality but can't remember it for the life of me.

Just popped in to have a look, and yes, this thread is still as mad as ever.

Are your ready to pay out the charitable bet we had at the beginning of the season ?

Re: Edin Dzeko (continued)

I am posting as promised.

Got my lad the Dzeko white away kit top and shorts. He loves it and everyone said it was cool at footy practice.

Only AED 29 from Dragon Mart! Bargain which almost made up for it taking 30 minutes to find a parking space as half of Mumbai seemed to have turned up in Dubai to buy the cheap crap on offer from Chinese containers. That's global commerce for you.

Re: Edin Dzeko (continued)

Looking like he might be offered a new contract (along with several others);

Excellent news.
