Re: Fernando

I'm not sure if he's just a shite Gareth Barry or Toure is just making him look shit.

Too slow, and too slow on the ball.

I know the rule is not to judge a player too soon, but there are worrying signs that your comments are accurate. I don't understand why MP is playing him over Fernandinho.

Re: Fernando

He is being played out of position. Ask any Porto fan what his position is and they'll say he's a specialist DM. His position is infront of his 2 CBs sweeping up behind the CMs. He should not be crossing the halfway.

Pellers is driving me insane sticking with him in CM. He's a brilliant DM

Problem is you could see where he'd be fantastic as the lone DM with other midfielders in advance of him. Him along with Toure in midfield by themselves has already cost us dearly.

Re: Fernando

Just why Fernandinho wasn't starting? Fernandinho was class last season and can make things happen with his passing also.

Re: Fernando

Needs time to adjust from the much slower Portuguese league - great breaking play up but with the ball at his feet he dithers when pressed. It will take time and we are doing him no favours playing him with a two with Yaya next to him. Hate to say it we missed Lampard today, which says a lot about central midfield this season. Next year he will be immense. Revert to Fernandinho and MD and let the Porto players learn the way to play at big tempo.

Fernandinho went off the boil a bit towards the end of last season and for me neither he or Fernando has started particularly well this season. When added to Yaya's indifferent start it doesn't make for a great midfield.

Re: Fernando

Decent squad player standard, for me.

Will be a good addition to the line-up when we need to play all three of Yaya Fernandinho and Fernando.

He, like Yaya, and Barry, is too slow to play in a two man midfield at the level we want to be playing at.

There's a reason he cost us about £14m when Fernadinho cost us £30+m and got into the CL team of the season the previous season to us signing him.
