Makes us so much better defensively when he plays. He also plays as a third center back at times...

He does. Fans will get on him because he doesn't offer as much going forward as Fernandinho or Yaya.

As if out of nowhere, we're suddenly able to string together cleans sheets away from home. Not a coincidence Fernando's involved.

Solid, things he does will go unnoticed. He'll never replace NDJ though, legend that guy.

For their ability, sometimes think both he and Fernandinho need to show more to take the ball off the central defenders and Hart.

He had a bit of a shaky spell around the time of the Spurs home game, where he got caught in possession a few times in dangerous areas. Think that was just a case of getting used to the pace of the Premiership, and he's looked good recently. He'll only get better as he becomes more settled, and will be a key player for us this season. It's no coincidence that we've kept clean sheets in the last three games that he's played in.

He seems to be acquiring an extra yard. In fact, the entire squad is starting to look fitter and sharper as the season goes on. For me, that's due to all the coaching staff who get even less praise that Fernando.
