His distribution is fecking awful there's no way he's brazillian he must havd been adopted by the same brazillians that adopted jo!
This is the modern day mould for Brazilian midfielders so it's not really that surprising, the days of great ball playing Brazilian midfielders is long gone. It started with Dungas, Mauro Silvas being one in a midfield of talented players to today where it's Fernandinhos, Fernando's, Paulinhos, the lad with shit moustache at World Cup, Sandros...the list goes on and on, even the attacking players are distinctly average like Willian, Hulk, Oscar, Fred etc. they are no longer the fantasy ball playing wonders of yesteryear

We should really have learnt our lesson after Jo and Robinho. I bet even Neymar would struggle in our league.

Our two just seem to commit foul after foul and misplace pass after pass. Fernandinho had some good games last year but he has really disappointed me this season. For £30m plus I expected a lot better. Fernando just isn't good enough, especially when played in a midfield Two.

These two cost close to £45m How much would we get if we sold them?

Just another shit buy in an ever increasing line of shit buys.
In any other company the person in charge of the hiring and firing would themselves be out of a job.

I agree with this. The last time the manager was responsible for transfers was 2011 when we signed Aguero, Nasri, Dzeko and the season before bough Silva, Yaya and Kolarov.

Since we adopted the DoF model we've signed Scott Sinclair, Garcia, Rodwell, Fernando, and Mangala....

Agreed. The scout who insisted that Fernando is good enough for City, needs sacking. Always passes sideways and looks like he don't even want the ball.

Only positive is probably that he is not on huge wages, so easier to ship him out.

You forgot Neymar
Portugal produced a Ronaldo, Wales produced a Bale, Ukraine a Shevchenko, Romania a Hagi, Liberia a Weah, Ivory Coast a Yaya and Drogba. Brazil hasn't produced the group of stars that seemed as though it was their birthright to be skillfull technically gifted stars as before, not even worth argument as everyone in Brazil knows this is how it is

Maicon, Caballero, Sagna, Jovetic, Navas, Negredo (good for a few moths but then wanted to go home)....the total outlay I'd be scared to know what it was...but have we signed one key player since Aguero in 2011??

Think he might be getting short shrift keep being deployed in a central 2 in a 442. That was never my understanding of where/how he plays when he came to the club, yet he keeps being pushed further and further up the park in a role he is obviously neither familiar or comfortable with.

Wherever he is played, you would think for 12 mil he could pick out the simplest of passes, but you also have to take a long look at the manager when it comes to this lad, he is the one who keeps putting him where he puts him when there are seemingly better options available.

To be fair you rightly got slaughted for writing off a player after 45 minutes of his debut.

However, if a player has been awful for over half a season then that's when his value to the team should be judged.

I didn't write him off after 45 minutes. I said he doesn't move in to positions to receive the ball, doesn't show feet, doesn't read the game very well and looks sluggish. I stand by every single one of those assessments, it's just taken half a season for some people to realise.

I've said at various different times that he should never play in a 442 and got slaughtered again. I'll have to check the stats, but I think our win percentage with him in a 442 is less than 50%.

During our last awful run in the autumn people came on here and told me Fernando wasn't the problem, but Yaya was. I'd love those people to come on here and defend that view after what's happened during December and January.

I actually agree with your assessments but I still think its premature to jump to conclusions over a player based on 45 mins. Especially on a debut in a new league.

Didn't Tevez go 11 games without scoring for us when he signed? And he went on to become one of the best players in our history.

Fernando is a limited player at best and he doesn't look convincing playing in a midfield 2 with Yaya. So putting him in a midfield 2 with Fernandinho is criminal.

I agree it would be premature to jump to conclusions after 45 minutes, but I didn't do that. I had serious reservations about him when everyone else was raving about him, and my reservations have been strengthened over the last 8 months every time I see him play.
