his debut is impressive. now we have destroyer which is comfortable with the ball too. his stature at times is like Kompany in the midfield. bring on Mangala & Zabaleta for the next game, now we'll have backline full of BEAST !

kept mixing them up due to poor quality of video on my laptop. only when they're both on screen at the same time you can notice that Vinny is much bigger and a bit lighter in the skin. otherwise, they look very much alike in their movement.

I was just going to post this, I was watching on normal TV on HD though and still kept mixing them up, kept thinking it was Vinnie in midfield.

I must have been watching a completely different game. His blocking was great and that’s the only positive I could find. I’m not going to slate him because with time and experience in this league I think he will be a class act, I just think everyone is getting a little ahead of themselves as I would pick Fernandinho over him any day. Probably in a similar giddy way everyone got over Jovetic’s preseason form. He looked weak at times for me but again with experience in this league he will only get better.

I think so too.

I liked the MOTD2 coverage when they talked about the power in the team. And we still have Zab/Sagna, Mangala, Fernndinho and Aguero to come

I think at key moments in games we can raise the intensity of our game to sweep teams aside

If yesterday is a sign of what's to come as far as the signings, bring on Mangala.

Fernando is just what we needed in midfield. His last second blocks and tackles were world class. Not only does he add stability and cover to the back four, but he also gives Yaya more freedom.

So far, fantastic signing.

Thought he had a solid debut. Really bossed opposition players around him. He will be feared by many a team as the season goes on. Between his strength, tackling and the fact he looks like a murderous cartel drug lord, oppositions will be very wary of him when running his way with the ball.
