Not quite sure how to post this video on here from my phone but look at Fernando. He looks so out of his depth here

Many thanks for sharing! This guy is going to cost us unless we get rid:

EDIT: Flash don't work on BlueMoon :(

Kompany just as shitty in the situation, but looking at it again, Fernando just wanders around.

Aye, but I can forgive a player for making a mistake. What Fernando was doing in that clip sums up his season with City, the guy is completely out of his depth!

Shaelumstash got it spot on with his post just now about Fernando.

Was very disappointed with his performance last night, but I have not been impressed by him in any game that needed a performance from him.

People had a soft spot for Garcia as he began to get better, learned how to play in this league, grew some balls and chased, harassed and got stuck into challenges which actually improved his confidence and played much, much better as a result. This was all after Garcia recovered from injuries, got fit and played more regularly.

However, with Fernando, I don't see this happening anytime soon. He did not get stuck in and hid away from the ball when he should have been the one picking it up from our defence to start attacks. Too many times he just positions himself in line with opposition player who is try to close down our defender with the ball leaving our defender with no out ball. He isn't taking the responsibility and looks scared and possibly unfit.
He is doing what Garcia did when he first arrived. The game just passed him by and opposition players waltz pass him as he just 'tracks' and shuffles from left to right.

As some have said he is not suited to a mid 2 and neither was Garcia. Pellers need to understand this adapt his formations to the players we have. If we play a mid 3 with Fernando sitting then he may get better but this is done to Pellers actually seeing this and adapting to it.

I have to say we missed Yaya badly last night. Yaya may not put in a shift the whole game but he is someone who looks for the ball and is confident enough and has the ability to play short exchanges with Nasri and Silva. Every time Nasri got/won the ball there was no-one to pass to. Milner stayed up field and too far in front in a crowded area and doesn't have the technical ability to play close contact passing. Silva got marked out and Fernando hid behind the opposition's attackers in front of our back four. Until Fernando can exchange short accurate passes and even the odd forward pass to help build the attack, get stuck in and process data much quicker then we will struggle with him in a mid 2.

I can't see us getting much back in transfer fees for him now either, probably another loan somewhere.

It's not his fault. He's not got the attributes to play in a two, that's been obvious for months now.

Totally agree mate. I posted this in the Pellegrini thread, but think it's probably better off in here.

Previous results with Fernando in a 442:

Stoke at home - lost 1-0
West Ham away - lost 2-1
CSKA away - drew 2-2
CSKA home - lost 2-1
Burley home - drew 2-2
Middlesborough home - lost 2-0
Hull home - drew 1-1

We are consistently garbage when Fernando plays in a 442. How anyone can tell me Pellegrini has learned from this mistake is just completely beyond me.

And if you are looking for a precedent, the last time Fernando and Milner played together in a 442 we got dicked at home 2-0 by Middlesborough.

Didn't he play at Stoke away in a midfield 4?

I knew the stats would be bad but jesus that is horrendous. That just says manager incompetence for me. Either he isn't aware of this or he chooses to ignore it. I cant believe its the former with all the stats flying around nowadays.

Just been watching a few videos on Youtube of him at Porto, and I honestly cannot believe its the same player. He is so much fitter and more athletic, quicker, stronger on Youtube than he is now. Which makes me think he isn't mentally up to the challenge (as well as not technically gifted enough to begin with).
