Player Thread: Patrick Roberts

Thats the first time I've seen him in the flesh tonight. Very skilful and gave my team (Dundee) a lot of problems running at our defence. Obviously hard to judge his pedigree considering the gulf in the leagues, but I was very impressed. Absolute lightening pace too.

A good first half,he won a penalty and was generally Celtics most creative and potent threat. He has superb pace, balance and vision, having that rare ability to genuinely lift bums off seats - a joy to watch.

Equally good second half, replaced on the 90 to receive his applause.I genuinely believe he is good enough for a place in our squad, although given he wouldn't have had the opportunities, had he stayed,to prove it this season, the loan to Celtic was absolutely the right development move.

Don't forget he got on the pitch away at Spurs so we already know he is rated enough to play in our first team but I fully agree with you re the move. Celtic is a great place to develop.

I watched the game today and he did well in a scrappy game, he was looking to play football on the deck where there is a lot of kick and rush going on around him. It will do him good to learn to deal with those difficult games and he gets enough of the ball to develop his game. He is already the stand out technical player at Celtic but the match experience will do him the world of good.

Agreed, also the physicality of that league will hugely benefit him

Big game for him tomorrow. Old firm derby and semi final of the cup.

Be interesting to see if he's ready for a physical battle, as technically he'll be the best out there. A strong performance and goal would certainly put him on Pep's radar (if the price tag and rep hasn't already).

Live on Sky at 12pm so should be plenty of streams.

Be interesting to see how he stands up to the pressure & the likelihood of people kicking the living shit out of him.
