Re: Samir Nasri

Well he can't be that proud of his religion as he's on record saying he's non practising and he wasn't picked in the 2010 world cup either and he played really poorly in their qualifier against Ukraine. I don't think it's right he didn't get picked for the squad because he's a lot better than players like Sissoko and Valbuena I just think it's got more to do with the dressing room not his religion.

Re: Samir Nasri

Just had a French journo (Philippe Auclair) on talksport talking abt Samir
Said he's the most devisive footballer in France.

Re: Samir Nasri

Did I hear knob head, i mean, Deschamps quoted on ssn this morning as saying "Not all the best French players made the squad" ??

It's a fucking joke. Samir Nasri. Scored in the league cup final and scored first goal to secure the title.

Outspoken is he? Isn't that a French trait full stop? They don't um an aah like we do in England.

His Mrs is right, fuck France NT

He comes across as being proud of his culture and ethnic origins rather than being overly religious, could be hard for the french to see that though.

Some just choose to pick on this media driven portrayal of the guy, I've met him enough times and he's a lovely lad, very polite and engaging... He's been outspoken in the French press on his beliefs and should be applauded in trying to oust
the prehistoric climate the thick French fuckers find themselves in...... Imagine a country that raped and pillaged for century upon century, that someone can be indeed that nationality, however, leave your Quran at the door..... Disgrace, the Backdraft off this is going to be huge!!!!!
I doubt it's got anything to do with him being muslim aren't both Ribery and Benzema muslims. If he creates problems in the dressing room then it doesn't leave the manager with much choice but it is crazy that Evra got picked even though he's had a shit season and he refused to train at the last world cup.

You mean frank and Karen who like to shag young, underage prostitutes?????

The same two who wouldn't say boo to a goose during or after the trial???

It has everything to do with his religion because he makes a point of how proud he is of it, people like those two make a mockery of it.....

Do you remember nasris support for Dieudonné 6 months ago? Look no further chief!!!!

I like to do what?

Was just thinking whether his 'Quenelle' gesture had anything to do with this

Not jumping to conclusions but I thought it was more to do with his outspoken comments about the French media

Irrespective of what he has said/done all it would have taken was a proper chat with the lad to see what his attitude is like

Question is, is Samir surprised he hasn't been selected? I imagine he had heard a few whispers himself leading up to the announcement

I think he's been saying for 4/5 months that he'd be watching from his tv, he's known for a while and it is definitely on the back of the Quenelle..... The French media have used his immaturity as a yard stick to hit him with whilst growing up, he's the first to admit he was very aloof and antagonistic, this goes much deeper though, as you allude he has done a great deal of growing up over the last 18 months, so what can it be??? His football has gone up a level, his contribution to the team 10 fold, he currently sits in the top 3 of creative players over the last 3 years in the prem and most importantly, seems happy in his day to day life.

The reality is the boy became a man and he isn't prepared to toe that bullshit party line that stinks in France, for me he needs applauding!!!

I was wondering how to respond without bashing my head against a brick wall, you saved me the trouble

Re: Samir Nasri

Cheers to the Zin Meister for his excellent comments.

I've not met him but as a [non-practising] British Muslim, I am familiar with the usual right wing outrage at someone having the temerity to challenge the fascist bullshit that is thrown out as 'fact'; and 'reasonable opinion'.

Fuck that.

His country will be begging him back after the Platini cock sucker is gone in June.

A future in politiics awaits our Sammy. Whilst I love Zidane as a player and have no problem with his secular approach, he does strike me as an arse licker. Not something you could ever accuse Monsieur Nasri of. I hope he stays with us for many years yet. Attitude and talent, which is all too much for some fellow blues. Tough shit, my brethren.

I wonder if that sort of explains his performances this season? The fact that he knew he wasn't going to get selected but its his way of saying 'this is what your missing out on'

He's clearly a strong minded lad, he took a lot of stick (justified) off City fans for his performances last season but he's got his head down and come out swinging this season so fair play to him

I hope the club get behind him now and offer him a new contract which he deserves

Not that many bluemooners spend there summers in Marseille but 2 of the biggest idols out there are Eric (spit) cantona and samir, both known incidentally for being outspoken....... And supporters of the common people (so to speak) - zidane was indeed a magical player, as a man? Fuck his mother (:
