Re: Samir Nasri

Both are fantastic players, skillful and technically brilliant. Where Silva is marginally better is his vision, he sees and creates things that aren't even there! Where Nasri is better is movement in behind and his finishing ability. Silva is looking to pull the strings and is happy with assists, he doesn't often look to score - Nasri on the other hand is sometimes pulling the strings, some times running wide and sometimes bursting in behind the defence. He looks to get on the scoresheet every game and that is the difference between the two. Fortunately with Yaya as well it is a fantastic trio of players that are bolstered by Fernandinho's agility box to box and then Negredo, Aguero, Navas etc dependent on who plays. Glad to see Nasri show the rewards of a consistent spell in the side, confidence and faith from the manager. He has been fantastic this season so far.

Re: Samir Nasri

Some interesting quotes here in an interview Sami did this week -

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Samir Nasri says Manchester City teammate Alvaro Negredo has proved to be the best signing of the Premier League season so far.

Negredo scored a hat-trick in City's 6-0 Capital One Cup thrashing of West Ham on Wednesday to take his goal tally so far this season to 18 in all competitions.

And Nasri believes the former Seville front-man is demonstrating all the qualities required of a top striker in the modern-day game.

"I think he (Alvaro) is the signing of the season so far," Nasri told Weekend Warm-Up "He's scored plenty of goals, he can hold the ball, he can play, he can find the space, he's a good finisher and he works a lot.

"He's been really good for us - I think he is the complete striker.

While Negredo has scored just eight times in the Premier League, City have managed 57 goals from their 20 matches.

Nasri says he is unsurprised by the team's goal haul, insisting he expects City to maintain their rich vein of goalscoring form.

"It's not a surprise when you see the quality of our offensive players," he said. "It's just that this year we have an identity and philosophy about the way we play that's the big change.

"I think that we are going to score way more and beat the record by Chelsea or United."

After a strong start for City following his move from Arsenal in 2011, Nasri struggled to find his best form under Roberto Mancini last season, regularly finding himself sidelined.

The attacking midfielder has credited the arrival of Chilean manager Manuel Pellegrini for bringing about a turnaround in his fortunes as a City player.

"Confidence is everything for a player and the new manager has come in and given me a lot of confidence and freedom on the pitch as well," Nasri said. "We talk a lot and he reminds me a lot of Arsene Wenger when I first came to England who was like a dad to me.

"When I came to City it was different because Arsenal were like a family to me. I arrived here with some big players and to a manager that liked conflict and for me that was a big change and I needed time to adjust.

"With him (Pellegrini) it's just like it was before. It's like something that I know already and I really like it that way.

"There is more talk. You know what you're doing right and you know what you are doing wrong. You know why you play or why you don't and that's what I like."

Re: Samir Nasri

Samir Nasri is a fantastic player but is not as good as David Silva.

You've all seen what David Silva did against Bayern Munich.

Both are different kind of players with sublime technique .Can't compare an apple with an orange.

Nasri is more attack minded and direct than Silva, who is really the image of typical Spanish patient building up play. Silva definitely needs other players around him while Nasri will go on his own when necessary. Still, Silva is one of the best players I'll ever see in a City shirt.

I agree with yours comparation of Silva/Nasri. Everybody who knows basic things about football. Have seen than Nasri got it in himself. ( similar Kolarov, Dzeko ). He was the same quality player under Mancini. There are just 2 differences. First under this manager he plays every "important" game and is respected enough and play a lot in general similar to Arsenal. Second thing is that he has better comunication with the manager now. Which makes his displays even better ( max. confidence ).
It makes all those people who were trashing Nasri ( and Kolarov or Dzeko ) in a thread " Is Nasri good enough" and were saying things like OMG we could get Mata instead of Nasri if there was not Mancini. Those people looks like fucking amaterus right now, hehe. I hope they have seen how wrong they were.
Kolarov identical scenario. Playing more , and more important games. And have to compete with just one player who is worse in offensive play. So if Pellegrini decided he wanted to play more attacking style. It was really not any question which one of Kolarov/Clichy will play more and more important games. Because of new founded confidence and feeling his place in a team is secured. Kolarov plays much better ( mostly his defencive part, which was weak in previous seasons ). That way of playing he was ALSO capable under Mancini like Nasri, the same.
Both Nasri and Kolarov will be better and better as season progresses. And will gradually reach theirs full potential, probably this season.
