Re: Nasri - future captain/vice captain material

not captaincy material at all

not someone you'd want to go war with or who would run through a brick wall for the team

I still can't forget him ducking out the way of RVP's last minute free kick which gave United a 3-2 win a couple of years ago!!!

great player though , love watching him play

Sulks like a kid when things aren't going his way, which isn't the best material when the chips are down and you look towards your leader for inspiration.

He'll be lucky to be a regular in the first team next season, let alone captain?

If it was to people here he would never be a regular in this team yet both managers played him in 99% of games he was available.

Yeah, he's currently a regular until someone better comes along. I'm not saying he's shit, he's played his part in this current squad without pulling up any trees and i certainly wouldn't make him captain.

Put it this way if either the Hazard or Sanchez deals had gone through you could cut that down to around 40% of the games, i'd have both of them in front of him, that's for sure.

Weird to see you being so overtly negative for no reason. Both Sanchez and Hazard are totally different players than Sami. Notwithstanding that I happen to think that even if we buy a world class left winger this summer there's more chance of Sami being moved into centre mid which is also a good thing.

I also think he needs competition though.

Sorry Mod, that is rediculous. Samir is one of our better players, and there a few to choose from.

Ducking you say ? Our actual captain also knows something about it.
I remember a CL game at Madrid when we were 2-2 with injury time to play,
till Vinny decided to duck in front of Tranny's shot, offering them the win on a silver plate.
He then came later with the most stupid attempt of explanation to why he's ducked away :

Totally agree with the above and you can put Fabregas into the mix aswell (£30 million - absolute steal). I like Nasri when he's on form but unfortunately for us this doesn't happen enough. Wonder how many people praising him after last night (credit where credit's due) were criticising him on Saturday during the Hull game when he couldn't clear the first man from a corner after umpteen attempts!!! Decent player but when someone else comes along in the summer (hopefully) i won't be too disappointed to see him go as i don't think he's been great value for money and too many times has been found wanting in games.

He had only returned from injury. If you are going down that route you might of criticised Kun as well for not getting back amongst the goals when he returned from injury as well.

certainly not captain material; second half yesterday showed what he is capable of, first half he was anonymous; one league goal all season, and not that many assists, irrespective of injuries, is such a waste of talent - but if last night could be a turning point, well that would be great
