I wonder if there's a case for rethinking our defensive approach entirely right now? Vinnie has been a brilliant CD for us, but he's also a pretty good defensive mid, too. Given the personnel at our disposal, this would allow us to go:

Hart
Zab Demi Mangala Clichy
Vinnie
Fernandinho Yaya
Nasri Silva
Aguero

It's a pretty flexible approach where 4141 can easily be tweaked to 4231 etc., as circumstances dictate. ... but it gives the backline the cover that's missing right now ... while playing to a lot of Vinnie's strengths.

I have often thought this could be an option but there's not a snowballs chance in hell of pellegrini trying something different like that.

People who call kompany a clown want to have a word with there self's.
Ok he's not been at his best.
But he has had some bad injuries and he is blue through and through.
What he needs is people to support him and hopefully he will turn it around.
The Captain's job is to lead his team into battle. He won our support because under Mancini he was a leader. Now the team rolls oer

Vidic, Keane, Vieira, Adams, Bremner, Emlyn Hughes, Kenny Burns. They would not have let the teams they captained go down in games like we have done this season without a fight.

Keane ??? so you are actually extolling the virtues of this complete c*nt on a city forum.

Great player, great captain. He's lifted two league titles, you know. He's in poor form but he's being hung out to dry by some useless management.

erm vinnie good shout id also swap yaya for nasri and put milner next to fern

We should play him as a defensive midfielder for the next few games and put Demi and Mangala at centre half.

See how that goes.

And a bunch of idle midfielders out of possession
