Can't blame him for the goal but the spotlight is on him so a normal header gets scrutinised where if it were a Demichelis header it wouldn't.

If it was Demi I would have said the same thing about his effort.

A poor clearance is a poor clearance.

You can blame anyone or anything you like when it comes to a goal but at the end of the day Vinny knows he should have done better and its just not going for him this season as has been well documented on and off the park.

Lets blame Boyd himself as he shouldn't have struck it so well.

Blame is not the important thing its what Vinny does in the future that is important.

The story going around is that he will be left out on Wednesday and return on Saturday.

If this is the case its another reason why MP needs to go.

vinny was the best player in a city shirt against burnley , didnt put a foot wrong , maybe his distribution could have been better , but he got back to basics and cleared his lines , hopefully a first step back to the CAPTAIN we know and love.

You maybe right about his foot but his woeful header that fell straight to the feet of Boyd ( you could see his anguish as soon as it left his head ) cost us another two points.

First rule of thumb when you defend with the head do not head into on coming traffic especially if you don't know the colour of the shirt.

Bullshit you clear your lines, after that it's not your fault especially if you have a gutless teammate who turns his back on the shot!

The season can't end sooner enough for Vinny.

He needs to away in the summer and have a good long holiday and reset himself for next season.

I just hope Vinny doesn't end up one of those players in which injuries ruin.

That's ok if you actually do , it was mistimed so didn't go have the distance it should have.

Most defenders in that situation use the momentum of the ball to head it to the least dangerous spot on the pitch.

Any idea where that might be?

What an odd logic.. He also cleared the lines last year vs the scousers... Whether you like it or not, that was a poor clearance which resulted in a goal. There were no players around him and yet he mistimed his jump which resulted in a soft clearance.

Lately on here has been alot of "it's always somebody elses fault. Let's hope the majority of team bounces back from this slump.

Kompany is the biggest problem in terms of summer decisions for me. If he is damaged and the last 2 years simply are the beginning of a decline then we need a replacement or a lead CB, perhaps Mangala can assume that role next year. But Mangala is not a ball playing CB, so we'd need one. And if Kompanys confidence is shot, then we suddenly have 2 ball huffing CBs and an aging backup in MDM.

He looked like Lescott yesterday :(

Have to agree with you , I think he can get back to playing good football without the responsibilty and pressure that is there when the bar is lifted.

When you win titles whether you like it or not the bar is lifted and the expectation from within and without increases.

Some revel in it , some it doesn't effect one way or the other and others like Vinny make the mistake of trying harder getting out of their comfort zone and it goes tits up for them much quicker than if they were of type 1 or 2 described.

I was thinking the same thing myself and while Lescott can still play in the premiership its at a club with relegation concerns or mid table obsurity that he is now comfortable at.

In saying that he would have done at least as good a job if not better than Vinny this season had he stayed such is life.

The players we have should really know Julian's weaknesses which are well documented and hopefully exploit them come Saturday 12.45pm.
