Good footballer but suffers because he isn't Zabaleta. Defended excellently against Bayern although he was poor tonight.

Good defender (cept for tonight) - a wast of space attacking as he can't overlap for toffee.
The way we play it is essential that our right back has to overlap get behind the defence and pass the ball to an oncoming City player.

Looks an average defender who offers nothing going forward.
A poor signing given he isn't likely to improve at his age and could very soon regress.
I'm not sure how he fits into our holistic approach.
Now that we are out of the League Cup I see him only as cover if Zaba gets injured.
He's nowhere near good enough to rotate in the PL.
Slightly better than Richards.

Don't think i've ever seen a player suffer so much for not being his alternative. Sagna is a very good defender first and foremost but with an ever changing back 4 and i think i'm right in saying he's yet to start 2 games in a row i doubt he'll be getting any sort of understanding with either his defensive line or indeed the person playing infront of him.
Zab's had years of playing week in week out to develop his game and make the runs at the right time, He knows what to do and when to do it, and just as importantly so do his team mates regardless of whether it's Navas playing infront of him or Milner or somebody else. Sagna hasn't had that luxury unfortunately.
Above all else though he just doesn't seem to fit. At arsenal he was used as an outlet that primarily whipped in a decent first time ball into the box. We don't do that at City therefore his main attacking attribute is completely defunct. You never saw him making underlapping runs, bursting into the box and cutting it back for a tap in and given his age and lack of continuous playing time i doubt he'll ever do that whilst with us. Not entirely his fault but he's just not the answer. Need to release him in the summer and bring in a younger model we can mould over time into the next Zabba.

complete and utter waste of space, worst right back in our history, every move breaks down as soon as the ball gets to him.
if we cant bring a right back through the youth team then fuckin sack the coaching staff, pathetic.
