Anyone know if Delph has any experience covering full back? I know he's been touted a few times as the industrious versatile player that could replace Jimmy Grimble.

3 Centre Backs might work against some sides but Palace concentrate their attacks out wide, with Bolasie, Zaha etc getting at the fullback. The wide players in the midfield would be constantly tracking back, and that would nullify our attacking. I think we either give Otamendi a game at right back, not ideal given it's not his natural position, and it's his debut. Or we bite the bullet and throw Maffeo in there, it might work, or it might be a disaster, but we may as well give him a go at some stage.

Delph is a lefty. Dinho would be the better choice.

Maffeo as surely back up in situations like this is what he is in the squad for.round pegs in round holes.sink or swim time.no fannying around with half fit players or make do's.funny how navas is now be seeing as a shoe In for this game when no one could see his worth and wanted him sidelined.
