Lots of Silva love on 'Goals on Sunday'. From Warnock, of all people.

I believe he did, jim. But even a broken clock is right twice a day.

The 6th goal yesterday may not have been the best of the bunch but it highlighted Silva's control of the game, he just strolled along the edge of the Newcastle area waiting for de Bruyne to get in the right position before he unleashed the pass.

Aguero and De Bruyne getting plenty of plaudits - and rightly so. But Silva was a cut above - outrageously good.

Just for balance, he was outrageously bad on their goal, stood there pointing instead of tracking back with the guy who provided the assist. I love Dave but had that been Yaya, there would have been pages of slagging about him being lazy.

There is not an adjective in the English language, that can fully describe how magical/great
a player, our Dave is. We need to invent one.

I'd have to watch it again (not doubting you, just haven't seen it other than in real time). And you're probably right about Yaya getting pelters if he did something similar, but then he does carry greater defensive responsibility in his position than Silva does in his. At any rate, in terms of making us play, dictating the game, creating chances, i don't think there can be any doubting how good he was - so good that to criticise him for a defensive error that may have led to the first goal seems a bit captious to me.
