I'd have to watch it again (not doubting you, just haven't seen it other than in real time). And you're probably right about Yaya getting pelters if he did something similar, but then he does carry greater defensive responsibility in his position than Silva does in his. At any rate, in terms of making us play, dictating the game, creating chances, i don't think there can be any doubting how good he was - so good that to criticise him for a defensive error that may have led to the first goal seems a bit captious to me.
There were several faults that led to their goal. Zabaleta being drawn in to easily, Otomendi being dragged into no mans land and ball watching being the two main causes. Silva not tracking back, whilst playing its part, is not by any stretch of the imagination "Outragously bad" and it certainly doesn't balance anything up in what was a sublime performance from him.

The "outrageously bad" bit was a tad tongue in cheek! (Outrageously good was scoring five goals...) However, he did have a duty to his team mates at that moment to track back; it's a duty that he quite regularly fails in and yesterday it helped to cost us a goal. You are right that he was not the only one at fault and that is often the case with goals that City concede; it's an area the team needs to improve on and Merlin should not be exempted from that if City want to become the better team.

Comparing Silva's defensive duties to that of a centre midfielder is a not a fair comparison. Is he perfect? No. However he is the closest to perfection that has ever worn a city shirt.

6 assists in 6 league matches. Imagine if he could keep up this kinda of rate throughout the campaign.

With his ankle being so fragile i am glad he is not sticking his foot in as much as before

I'd like to know how many assists to the assist Silva has aswell.

He's Iniesta-like in his ability to pick out a killer pass which leads to a simple assist for a team mate.

Fernandinho and De Brunye will rightly get the assists for Kun's 1st and 5th goal but Silva's contribution to them was just as vital IMO.

But David Josué Jiménez Silva usually tracks back.

Remember the build up for the 3rd goal to Chelski, Merlin dispossessed Hazard from the ball almost in our left corner, and started the charge from there.

You need a clear head or plenty of oxygen in the blood to the brain to make the right decisions creatively. This is a fact why the play maker can't keep running back. It's more effective for him to press/squeeze. That's from the horse's mouth.
