Re: Mangala

These things happen that's why the game is so good. Last yr Vinny dropped a clanger at Hull and we then saw one of the best defensive showings of a season in Demi and Garcia. It pisses me of when you all you hear is we/he they were shit.well that's life, shit happens. Mistakes have been made and will always be made.for every Sergio moment there will be a * insert players name who has cocked up* moment.

Re: Mangala

So he gives a penalty away and scores an own goal and he has become not a good signing???

Fucking hell. These things happe. MD was lambasted last season and he came through it.

Quality player

Re: Mangala

Vinny should take a leaf out of the Rooney Manual of Motivational Captaincy.

Any young player who makes an error should be mercilessly bollocked on the pitch at the time of the offence. This helps to build up their resilience and resolve so they don't fcukin do it again.

And if that doesn't work, kick them in the bollocks...

Re: Mangala

Think the lad is a great defender, yet at Hull he seemed a little too eager. Can't blame him, not playing for 5 months, waiting on the bench in Brasil and than at City ... Pellegrini and Kompany probably told him by now he doesn't need to carry the team, just do his job. And he must realize he is playing next to one of the finest central defenders and our captain: Vincent Kompany.

Pity the press saw a perfect moment to knock the player down after they were forced to admit how good he was vs Chelsea. And yes ... he is the most expensive defender in the PL. Whatever, Mangala is ours.

Btw, liked Kompany saying we have a lot of defenders speaking the French languague, yet most of the conversations between them on and off the field are in English. As it should be.

Re: Mangala

The whole problem came from our shape. Playing Silva LM means our LB is going to have little cover. Clichy was too overzealous in diving in on their RM and RB and they worked it out. We were playing a high line, Clichy panics and dives in, lets both the man and the ball past him (something I personally think Kolorov wouldn't have done) and Mangala is turned, without too much knowledge of who's behind him - he HAS to header it, it's a great ball in and 9 out of 10 times it's going to go out for a corner! I'd be more annoyed if he left it!

Penalty again was a tactical error, caught too high up the pitch - defence is turned by a decent pass and Mangala HAS to make some type of attempt to get rid. He obviously got it horrible wrong and deserved his yellow card, but I think if Joe Hart is in goals he would have communicated with the defence better on both and that might have helped.

The lad is obviously going to be good! and IMO is the perfect fit next to Kompany!

The only downside is I think this will edge Nastasic out - which will annoy me because I think he's good!

Re: Mangala

^^^^^

Loukas the only thing i would add is that

a) Clichy should have wiped the lad out and taken a booking if neccesary

b) As far as Mangala was concerned for the first goal, he is looking over his shoulder at Hernandez coming into the box which prevents him from getting in line with Kompany as he knows a cut back from Elmohamady means Hernandez is in Oceans of space to shoot as Yaya and Ferna are still getting back into position

The 2nd goal is just over eagerness IMO, he doesn't even need to try and clear that ball, has no idea whats around him. But again its something that he should learn from. If I'm being picky VK should have been screaming at him to leave it as VK has got it all under control by the looks of it.

got too agree with that!

I think anyone who saying he's suddenly a bad player needs to give their head a wobble! This time next year he'll be great!
