Re: Mangala

He needs game time to form the partnership with Komps, its counterproductive to keep rotating him.The lad is quality, its only familiarity, and a subsequent confidence, that is the problem IMO.

It certainly wouldn't help any centre half's confidence having to play behind City's current midfield, but I have other concerns about him. He looked distinctly Lescott like on Wednesday in terms of his uncomfortableness in possession, and his judgment and timing were poor as well. I hope my fears are misplaced, but I'd go with MdM alongside Kompers on Sunday

No doubt those who are piling in to Eliaquim Mangala are the same ones who were slaughtering Martin Demichelis this time last year.

And see how that turned out.

Give the kid a break. He will come good. But the only way he will come good is by playing.

And the more he plays, the sooner he will get there.

However, I would play MD on Sunday alongside Vinnie.

Agree with every word of this. Sunday's highly-charged atmosphere isn't the place for someone trying desperately to settle in. If he tries too hard, one of those rag divas will ensure he gets a red. Demi, on the other hand, has a calm head and has seen it all.

Talking of divas, there's a few on this thread. We bought this lad for the long run.

Re: Mangala

I was hoping to be more and more impressed by Mangala, but sadly I am less and less convinced. Hope he doesn't play tomorrow. The derby is no place to practice with a view to future improvement.

Re: Mangala

The lad will be a star for us for many years to come, his début against Chelsea was very reminiscent of Kompany's against West Ham back in 2008.

Clichy's poor form hasn't helped him because he's been exposed multiple times, but as our LB's come into form and he forges a partnership with Vinny, he will be a rock, a very athletic rock at that.

Patience.

I know what you're saying, but he was brilliant against Chelsea. Needs to play with Kompany every week. I hate all this rotation bollocks. Demi as back up in case of injury/suspension.
