Compared last season Nastasic with Mangala for us in the PL. Similar amount of time played, except Nastasic has been in the PL for a year more.

Mangala commits less fouls, gets carded less, wins more headers and tackles, has more successful take ons (to nastasic none) per 90 mins

His pass accuracy and average pass length is less, but he makes more key passes and has actually created chances and as mentioned before has an assist. That tells me that he is willing to play the risky pass in an attempt to make things happen and doesn't always take the safe route (that would boost the pass completion rate).

He also hasn't made an error that directly lead to a goal

he does lose out in interceptions, but I guess that once he is upto speed for the PL he would boast much better figures.

I rate Mangala and I rate Nastasic. At 21 and 23 they're both young. Mangala has a better physique, better strength, better 2 footedness. But I do feel that Nastasic has more nounce, a more defensive brain.

If both were to reach their potential I'd have Mangala all day. Yet still I won't be happy when Nastasic is inevitably sold. That's what's it's like these days supporting City, we're gonna sell great players...

they are both going to be brilliant players. at the ages they are they should be further on than they are though. as centre backs they have ten years ahead of them so there is still time. of the two magala is certainly the most ready of the two.

not impressed to be honest. fills me with dread whenever on the ball or on a 1 on 1 with a player. that shouldnt hapen with a 32 million pound player. would have happily taken the likes of Virgil Van Dijk, shawcross or vertonghen insteadof him and they've have cost much less

demichelis was dreadful in his first few months .. but then he got used to the team and the pace of the league . hes an amazing defender , so composed and so brave .. too bad we have to replace him soon as hes so old.

but no point judging mangala at this stage...judge him at the end of the season.

Applause for the big unit today. I thought he had a very good game. Tackled well and saved the skin of Demichelis in the first half when he salvaged a bad back pass. Strong in the air and some timely interventions broke up a lot of their attacks.

Faultless today, athleticism in his leaping headers, pace to burn, perfectly timed challenges, he will go on to be one of the best defenders in the world IMO.

Good performance today. I can't help thinking that the longer he plays in the Premier League the better he will become just as Demichelis has.
